Worth the time and effort
Like: All pieces present, completed product is a good size, decals and curved pieces help to create a pleasing model that remains visibly LEGO. Glad it separates into sections. Improvements: I read reviews by others (Grateful for their honesty): I glued many pieces especially smaller ones or at stress points. (Ive no intention of dismantling). Agree with others, the bottom section's vents would be better as curved pieces or sticky decals. Having saved up £200 to buy this: the capsule water landing and moon lander could be 2x better. Neil Armstrong stepping down... Has any smart app developer got a phone camera to scan a bag of LEGO and list the pieces? Bottomline: Engaging kit linked to a special moment in history. Tip my hat to all who made the real Saturn V

Brilliant model of the iconic Saturn V rocket.
In the box there were 12 bags of lego and I decided to open 1 bag per day. The first 6 bags were for the 1st stage and after starting the build I couldn’t stop and had it completed in 3 days. Its so addictive. I grew up in the sixties and watched the launch of these mighty rockets on television so when I saw this model I just had to buy it. It was a lot of fun building it.

"fantastic Lego set for a fantastic price"
Bought for my 20+ son for Christmas 22! He loves it, he's into & owns all the NASA range. This set is, as normal of excellent quality, the build design is very well thought out & is of a solid construction. My son bought a wall mounting kit for each module of this rocket & on the wall looks totally awesome. For the disearning Lego builder this is a set to buy for sure!

Superb
Usual Lego high quality, accurate & educational plus fun to build. Having looked & researched other models both in the UK & abroad, this is by far the best. But be quick because sadly, I believe, this is going to be discontinued. The separate 3rd party base & lighting units (also available from Amazon) are an excellent addition. Also my order arrived much quicker than anticipated.

First rate model of iconic spaceship!
Can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this GREAT kit yet! Whilst it only took me around 60 hours to put together, it was the most enjoyable way of passing a rainy ‘extended’ weekend! Arrived in excellent order and very quickly....good seller! I’ve bought a transparent corner shelf (from Amazon of course!) and the model now sits proudly above my desk in the study. There is a Lunar Lander and a better return to Earth capsule, for an extra display, but, I placed the Lunar Lander inside the rocket, where it should be, and I used the ‘better’ (right colour and decals) return Capsule on the top! Pleased, you bet!

Amazing. And HUGE! First, let me say that this is my first Lego set. I've built Legos before (as a kid) but never anything that came with instructions let alone nearly 200 pages of instructions! The manual was very detailed and easy to follow. I did make a couple of small errors that I caught quickly enough and was able to correct - just needed to pay extra attention when attaching the outer body panels as they do vary slightly. Some of the diagrams were a little tough to decipher due to the complexity of certain pieces but it was all easy enough to figure out. Total build time was around 7 hours at a leisurely pace. First impressions of the completed build: CONS- just a few minor details that would have thrown this set over the top for me. The main command module has no printed details like a hatch or window while the splashdown command module does. The launch escape tower is not easily detached as it would have been in real life. Would have been cool to have room inside the command and lunar modules for the minifigs to be stored - the Lunar module set up would be fine for 2 of the 3 figs to be displayed but the third can't be accurately displayed as the 3rd astronaut would have remained in the command module. I plan to display this with the individual stages separated so I will need to devise a way to make more stands - the three provided are a little disappointing. PROS - very detailed and nearly spot on to the real deal. Challenging but fun build. Amazing how stable and solid the finished set is, well thought out construction. Loved that the build was broken up into the actual stages of the rocket and that the stages are easily separated once completed. Also fun that the service, command and lunar module can be taken out and docked together. The lunar module can also be separated into its decent and ascent stages. And the most interesting detail of all that no one seems to have mentioned in any of the reviews that I've read....could it be a coincidence that the piece count is the same as the year of the first moon landing - 1969?!? I think not. I swore this would be my first and only Lego set but I saw that there may be a similarly scaled space shuttle released soon. Hmmm...

I enjoyed building this massive set! It looks awesome! The biggest surprise for me was that there are now stickers, everything is just printed on plastic. Highly recommend!
