Great Puer for Newbs
A good starter tea cake! This review is after 2 years since purchasing! Yes, this can last that long and for even longer! Shou puer is like aging red wine. It's only gets darker and sweeter as you go along. Stem volume in this batch is worth noting. It is a CLEAN tea, but not as "punchy" as other mature puer leaves of higher quality. This is great for newbies. Earthy enough, but not so funky to frighten you away from dark, aged teas.

Sweet, nice tasting ripe puerh
This is a nice tasting ripe puerh for the price. At 357 grams it will last quite a long time. Ripe puerh is ready to drink, and doesn't need to be aged. It has the distinct mild and sweet flavor characteristic of ripe puerh, and every infusion produces a thick brown liquor. This cake tastes great on its own, but would also work nicely as a base for kombucha or in a tea blend. Flavor notes: cocoa, malt, root beer Description from the product label, which I then Google translated (note, Google translate has obvious inaccuracies): "This product is selected for use as a raw material for the eucalyptus and large-leaf species of Bohai arbor, which is fermented by moderate fermentation and high temperature. This product has many buds, the leaves are tender, the soup is red and bright, its aroma is pure and lasting, the tea soup is sweet and strong, the taste is thick and sweet, and it is fresh and smooth. The color of this product is brownish red, the inner quality of the soup is bright red ice, the aroma is unique and the fragrance is mellow, and the aftertaste is mellow and sweet. It has become a unique treasure in all kinds of famous teas, and it is also a collection of tea lovers. China's Yunnan Xishuang version of the easy-to-use hand-grinding stone to suppress Ter-free tea industry spirit to achieve the folk tourism brand right."

One of the best Puerhs I've found on Amazon
I bought this on a whim because the price was good and I was pleasantly surprise. I like this tea as much or more than the teas I've order from specialty vendors in China. It makes a rich, caramelly reddish brown tea and even though I have a whole mini fridge full of ripe puerh cakes, this one is almost gone because it's consistently good so I keep drinking it. Affordable, fast shipping, and surprisingly good.

Full bold flavor
Large pressed fermented tea good replacement for coffee drinkers. It has a fullness essence not the thin feel of lighter teas.

One of the best aged puerh tea over Amazon
I drank puerh tea for years, after I out of the resource to get the good quality tea from China I started to look at the Amazon for the replacement. Believe it not this tea is a huge surprise to me for the price that you paid for. I think this tea is so under rated, not matter form itโs dark red transparent liquid, itโs thick favor or smooth taste, it all deserves higher rating.

The price does not match the actual product.
Yes, this is not tree tea; it is bush tea. It is worth at most $8.

It makes hot brown liquid?
A tea for folks who like the process of brewing puerh, but not the flavor. Properly steeped (even with large quantities of leaf) it lacked both earthy character and smooth texture. The scent of the brewing tea is good, but also extremely mild. Probably the least interesting, saddest tea cake I've tasted. The company who produced this tea reached out and sent me samples of their finer grades (a and royal) of puerh. I found them alarmingly floral (not to my taste) but the gesture was appreciated.

Not a lot of flavor
This was my first Pu erh Tea cake and it is disappointing. Very weak tasting. No body at all. It was one of the less expensive choices so I hope that if I pay more next time it will be better.
