The Powersafer PSX is a UK plug power adapter that automatically cuts standby power consumption (up to 70%) for TVs, DVD players, game consoles, and home cinema systems. Operating at 230V with a 460W switching capacity and ultra-low 0.5W self-consumption, it uses an infrared sensor to reconnect power when you use your remote, combining energy savings with convenience and device protection.

## Description

Powersafer suitable for devices TV, DVD Players, Games Consoles and Home Theatres or Hi-Fi on standby: Can still use as much as 70% of the power as when they are switched on? Shortens their life by up to 15%. This standby power is responsible for more than 10% of domestic electricity usage on average. The PowerSafer PSX is an advanced new product which has the same effect as turning off your appliances at the mains socket, yet still allows the remote control to be used to turn them back on again. This version is used with a television and up to 5 devices connected to a power strip or gang plug (not supplied). How does Powersafer work? Shortly after you switch all your appliances (e.g. TV, DVD player, Amplifier) to standby mode the PowerSafer disconnects them from the power supply. When you next use your remote control the PowerSafer's infra-red sensor detects this and the Powersafer switches on automatically reconnecting the electricity supply to all the connected devices. Note that you may have to press your remote control button twice - the first time to wake up the Powersafe, and the second time to switch on your appliance. Review: Cable lengths - Long cable from socket to unit. Short cable from unit to socket where device is plugged in. Would have preferred this to be longer as I have TV on top, with power leads going down to sockets in a cabinet. Other than that, this version of device is very easy to use. I had earlier versions of this device which could get finicky as they had a rotary knob which had to be adjusted over time. Too much one way and devices would not switch on- too much the other way and they stayed on. With this device I no longer have to get down to switch on the socket. Just leave socket on the wall on and press "ON" on remote and TV then comes on.

Long cable from socket to unit. Short cable from unit to socket where device is plugged in. Would have preferred this to be longer as I have TV on top, with power leads going down to sockets in a cabinet. Other than that, this version of device is very easy to use. I had earlier versions of this device which could get finicky as they had a rotary knob which had to be adjusted over time. Too much one way and devices would not switch on- too much the other way and they stayed on. With this device I no longer have to get down to switch on the socket. Just leave socket on the wall on and press "ON" on remote and TV then comes on.
