This is the one thing in the kitchen we cannot do without. It works on cast iron, pyrex, glass, ceramic and steel. This makes short work of the worst burnt on messes you can think of. We put pyrex casserole dishes on our pellet grill to roast veggies and lived with yellowish brown burnt oil stains on them for years. This scrubber took the stains off in a just a few minutes. We overheated oil in a saucepan and started a small fire which severely scorched the pan. It was pitch black. Hours of soaking, running through the dishwasher and scrubbing with traditional scratch pads did nothing. 10 minutes with this scrubber and the pan is good as new. It is absolutely incredible. We keep ours on the edge of the sink, so ours has inadvertently slipped down the disposal more than once. After unwinding it we put it right back to work. We have given these as Christmas, birthday, housewarming and wedding gifts. We recommend them to anyone who will listen. Do yourself a favor and spend up for the real thing. Avoid the cheap imitations. The quality is not close. Great quality. Worth every penny.

This works great if you decided to burn a little bit of food on the bottom of your cast iron skillet. Hot water, dish soap, chain mail scrubber and a little elbow grease, this thing does wonders. Definitely missing out if you don’t have one

Wow! This thing is magic. I love my Victorian cast iron pan, but it was starting to look a little down in the dumps. I had seasoned it correctly when I first got it, but it was starting to aggregate build up. I stumbled across this chain mail scrubber, ordered it, and man, am I happy. Super easy, and it DID NOT interfere with my seasoning. Highly recommend.

I've used cast iron skillets for years now but I'm sure many would agree with me that they're often a pain in the rear to clean and keep well-seasoned at the same time. I grew up with a mom who was a neat freak and always used soap on her cast iron. It took me a long time into my adulthood to realize that wasn't the way to do it. Last summer I was looking to see if there was a good alternative to those lousy green brand-name scrubber pads that keep wearing out every couple of months when I found this. I read the reviews and decided to give it a shot. Aside from the fact it's pretty small (which is why I give it four stars, not five) it's the best thing ever for cleaning my pans! Cleaning the scrubber is easy too! It's always covered in grease when I'm done with it so I use a little Dawn or some of my orange solvent cleaner, rinse and dry flat on a towel. I never do a thorough cleaning of the inside of my cast iron skillets, just clean the outside really well and any stuck-on food stuffs from the inside. I like to leave some grease which just helps to build up the seasoning. I put some warm water into them and if need be, let soak for about five minutes, then use the chain mail on them. Once that's done I either dry them out with newspaper or put them on a hot burner. I figure considering the pans are going to be heated fully next time they're cooked in, if something did survive the washing it certainly won't survive the heat. I have a couple of VERY low-quality cast iron skillets that had to go through an oven-cleaning a few weeks ago. Between the chain mail and light cleanings I had them back to an excellent seasoning after only a couple of uses.

I use it first to scrub down of my cast iron pans that I have hard-cooked, burnt-on crusts. I then use a standard Chore Girl wire scrubber to get the final clean done. I NEVER USE SOAP with my cast iron. This tool saves a lot of time and effort in cleaning up cast iron pans.
