Breeze Going From Twin Socket - 25mm Back Box Required
A few mixed reviews in regards to this item sitting flush, I believe these are customers going from a single socket recess but I have to say, I found it a breeze however I was going from a double to a triple. If you enlarge the image, you will notice little white caps in the centre of each of the three sockets, these can be popped in and out, behind the caps are the screw holes, which ones you use will depend on whether you are going up from a single or double. The entry point on the rear and the depth of the socket means these are no use for a back box with a depth of 16mm you need 25mm or larger. Build quality is okay, I say okay as the switches do not have a robust feel or click to them, if this is an undue concern we shall see in the future. If they fail I will immediately edit me review but for now a 5 star product.

Easy to fit double to triple conversion and does not ...
Easy to fit double to triple conversion and does not stand too proud from the wall being only 20mm deep rather than the normal 25mm with other similar products on sale. The only thing that stops it being a 5 star review is that on my double back box the cover screw sockets bottom on the two brackets leaving the socket approx 1mm proud of the wall with both screws tight. Not a big issue and easily remedied but I was not expecting to have to do anything else other thn change the socket.

This product will actually reduce the rating of an existing 2-gang outlet
Many people who have ordered this item intend to use it to accommodate a number of comparatively light current items, such as television, recorder etc. It is perfectly fine for such applications but if it is intended for use in a kitchen for example, where a kettle and a toaster may both be used from the same 2-gang outlet, then this product will not be suitable because the fuse, which protects all three outlets, is rated at 13 amps only and will not allow both toaster and kettle to be used at the same time, let alone the additional item you wish to connect. A 2-gang socket on a ring main circuit will allow both the outlets to carry their full rated current, so in effect the 13 amp fuse is reducing the capacity by 50%. i understand the need for this because the product is designed for use on both single and double existing outlets, but intended users should be aware of its limitations. the provided screws are unlikely to be long enough and certainly will not be on a tiled surface, so don't get caught out by this. If you intend to use this to convert a single gang outlet on a tiled surface i would advise against it because of the need to dig a small hole in the wall to accommodate the projection at the back of the new outlet. One way to get around this would be to make yourself a distance piece that will stand the new socket away from the wall by the required amount - but not everybody has the resources to do this sort of thing. No complaints about the product itself - it does what it says on the tin. Brian Hindle

Easy to install but beware using over-sized plugs
Easy to install, it's just a case of isolating the electric going to the socket you want to change, removing the front plate and releasing the wires; then rewiring the new face plate (taking care to wire it correctly), lining up the screws to attach the front to the back box then screwing them in. It will be slightly more work if you are changing a single to a triple but if you are upgrading a double socket the job should be done in 5 mins. The item also comes with plastic covers to go in to the screw holes after you have finished and a 13 amp fuse is also installed. One slight gripe is that the sockets are close to each other, it's OK if you are using standard plugs but if you are using any over-sized plugs you may have a problem.

Great socket expander
This adaptor, is a replacement for a double socket, creating a low profile 3 gang socket. Easy to install, effective and unobtrusive. Highly recommended.

Don't waste your money on this item
Badly designed and as other reviewers have said there is a lump that sticks out of the back of the socket which needs to be cut into the wall. What the lump is for I have no idea. Fortunately the wall I was fitting it to was only a plaster board wall but if it had been a brick or blockwork wall it would have been a bit more of a problem to make it look anywhere near right. The spare screw covers stick out from the back of the socket too which needs to be removed before fitting. Kind of defeats the object of putting spare screw covers on there if you have to remove them and store them somewhere else. Then by the time you come to need them you probably won't remember where you put them anyway. Maybe OK to swap for a twin socket but not a single socket due to the bad design. I went for the Robus version as it was a name I recognised but now wish I'd gone for one of the cheaper ones. The supplied M3.5 fixing screws have got those combination slotted cross head screwdriver pattern heads which doesn't fit a slotted, Philips or Pozidrive screwdriver very well. I've fitted a fair few converter sockets over the years and never had the same issues that I have had with this thing. So if you want a single to triple socket or double to triple converter look for something else and don't waste your money on this thing.
