CBAP and CCBA certification are the industry benchmarks for those who practice the profession of business analysis. This comprehensive guide is easy to work with and easy to learn, and Watermark Learning s experience as a founding member of the IIBA as well as contributors to the (BABOK Guide) gives this publication an extra edge. It covers the (BABOK Guide) version 2 in depth, and is also the premier resource for CCBA candidates. The guide provides a single tool to prepare not only for the exam but also for the real-life world of the business analyst. A FREE TRIAL SUBSCRIPTION to the CBAP or CCBA Online Study Exam is also included with each new book purchased. Review: Buy this Study Guide to pass CBAP exam in the 1st attempt - I am very glad that I got an efficient Study guide for my CBAP preparation. I am very thankful for the Authors of this Study guide and I passed the exam in my 1st attempt. Just want to share the trend. Initially I was going through only BABOK in one of IIBA Local Chapters and my score used to range between 50% and 60%. I was little worried and then I came across this study guide in desertcart. It really helped me understand the BABOK easily. With the help of this Study guide & BABOK my score of the practice exams ranged between 65% and 75%. Then comes the interesting part - Exam simulation - Trial offer for 5 days. After completing several drill and full simulation exams my scoring ranged between 80% and 90%. It really helped to face the actual CBAP exam with full confident. But please note 90% in simulation does not mean that you are all set for exam. As mentioned in the study guide, BABOK should be one's primary study material. However, my only comment about this Study guide, Stakeholders and their roles are not captured detailed in each KAs/Tasks in this study guide. I strongly recommend to go through the Stakeholders part in BABOK under each KA/Task. Its really worthful to buy this study guide especially for the trial period of simulation exams. The actual exam is almost similar to the simuulation exams but for sure you need to study every line in BABOK. I strongly recommend this study guide to my friends. Good luck. Regards, Saba CBAP, AINS Review: I would give it 5 stars if.... - I passed the CBAP exam with around a month of part time study and rely on mostly the materials in this book. However, this study guide cannot be the sole resource to prepare for the exam, the key is to do lots of full CBAP exam simulator. (see bottom paragraph regarding my take on online exams) I have a few suggested improvements and this study guide will worth 5 stars IMHO: 1) I believe the authors purposely not discuss the stakeholders for each task, however, I found that in the actual test, there are quite a few questions on stakeholders. Luckily I discovered that when I did the online exam and referenced back to BABOK to study the details before the exam. If the author can just provide a brief summary on stakeholder involvements for each task, that will be great. 2) This guide discuss techniques together with the knowledge areas which is great (unlike BABOK have a separate chapter on techniques). However, the content and key points on the techniques stayed at a high/summary level, in the actual exams there are MANY scenario based questions on the techniques. 3) Provide a combo deal - purchase this guide and get a discount on watermark online exams :) They did give you free 5 days pass but definitely not enough. I purchased Watermark as well as BAMentor online exams, the questions are worded quite differently between the two vendors. I would say watermark is pretty straight forward and tend to focus on the content in the study guide. Also you can only review the most recent exam you took. I felt BA Mentor online exam is closer to the actual exam question style (i.e. not easy to understand what they are really asking). They also test concept in the BABOK which Watermark didn't even mention in their guide; and allow to review all previous exams that you have taken. So it is up to you which one you want to spend money on or both. (I recommend to get both especially if you have limited exam prep time, like me) I still highly recommend this guide since it is organized in a way to make it easy to understand and memorize the key concepts so that they can be readily recalled during the exam.

Best Guide on the market
Indeed the best Guide on the market. We are using it as part of our courses in Germany at masVenta and we are getting excellent feedback all the time. Some of our students have compared it to other Guides and the clearly prefer this one.Structured, easy to read and full of mnemonics with which we always have a lof of fun in the courses. Another nice ingredient is the 5 days trial subscription of the Online Study Exam Simulator, a key success factor for anybody who applies for the exam. If you can fully focus the last five days on using the Online Simulation you might not need to subscribe for further days. Im any case I recommend to do at least 2-3 full-blown exam simulations with 150 questions in 3.5 hrs (no breaks, no books, no food, no cigarettes ;-). If you have more than 80% you are lucky and can make your appointment. I have passed my exam that way already 4 yrs ago.

Well written and VERY useful
I went by the reviews, and got this book early in my preparation. The book is very well structured, and helped clarify for me a lot of the material in the BABOK. The 5 day trial of the online content was critical to my preparation (I passed this month on my first attempt). In the last 3 weeks of preparation, I found myself going back and forth between this book and the BABOK frequently. I went through the BABOK a few times, this study guide once, and did a total of about a 1000 exam questions. Also tried this --> http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/1890367540/ref=cm_cr_mts_prod_img , but the watermark CBAP certification guide was far better, and the question in the guide and the online exam a lot closer to the actual exam questions.

Good Study Guide for Experienced Practioner
This was the only additional resource (outside the BABOK itself) that I used in preparation for my CBAP exam. I found their SIPOCs for each knowledge area very helpful. The study guide comes with a code for a 30 day use of an online practice exam, which I believe was instrumental in my passing the test. The practice exam gave me insight into how IIBA framed the questions and resharpened my test-taking skills. That said, I feel the guide could be improved with the addition of a few case studies showing examples of how and when the various tasks and techniques might be used in an organization. Unless a business analyst has had exposure to these activities during their career, he or she may struggle with applying and understanding the concepts and how they fit together. Bottom line - I would definitely recommend this book for business analysts preparing for CBAP. I'd also recommend reading the BABOK, studying with one or more of your peers, and finding a CBAP mentor Pamela Repyak, CBAP

Not needed to pass the test, go for online exam
This book is a complete waste of money, there is absolutely nothing in this book that will help you in passing. The CBAP test is completely memory driven, the book will provide you with mnemonics to memorize different terms but they do not help with the 150 questions. Almost all the people I know with CBAP has mentioned that it is better to take the online exams, if you keep taking those you will end up memorizing most of the questions that will actually help you in the exam. Some people here might find this review a little controversial, but I will be honest, if these same people are writing the BABOK and this guide, then why not making the BABOK good enough so there is no need for a study guide? But of course there is no way to make money that way. Again if you like to take the test, this book will not help just the mnemonics and the diagrams are not enough to pass the taste, there is a lot of practice needed with online test to really memorize all the question. And dont forget to buy there flash cards just so we can make some more money!

Spot On Guide
The Larson's have written a spot on guide for understanding the IIBA BOK and getting ready for the CBAP certification exam. There is defiantly the air of insider knowledge in this publication. This translates into saving the applicant time. The BOK framework is semi-inscrutable and their clear and concise language really does peel back the onion. Congratulations to Watermark and the Larson's this book will help the applicant to prepare for the CBAP and make an even greater contribution to Business Analysis. As an EEP with IIBA I can assure you this books will save you lot's of struggles! Get it if you plan to sit for the CBAP and read it before you do anything else.

Cheap and Best - CBAP Certification Study Guide (2nd Edition)
After research and talking to my friends who are already CBAP(s), I bought some material for CBAP certification exam preparation. Which included CABP - Certification Study Guide V2.0 and Crosswind Mindmaps. After going through the book I realized that these mindmaps were not required as this book perfectly aligns with the BABOK 2.0 and have very detailed and well though out lesson plans, detailed charts explaining all the processes and a unique way to memorize using Mnemonics. It also contains sample test questions at the end of each chapter and that's not all. At the end of the book there are 150 test simulation questions to practice like real exam. Would suggest this book to all the CBAP aspirants.

The material is explained well and does a great job of highlighting the BABOK nuances
I used this book and passed the CBAP exam. The material is explained well and does a great job of highlighting the BABOK nuances. I particularly liked the practice exam questions. They were relevant and did a great job of preparing me for the exam. I previously purchased other exam preparation materials (CBAP Exam Prep - Carkenord; All-in-One CBAP - Joe Phillips) and subsequently discarded them
