Does the job for my horses!
I've been feeding magnesium to my horses for over a year now. It started as an attempt to calm a very anxious horse that wasn't reacting to herbal supplements but now I feed it to all of them. Result: hooves have improved by leaps and bounds, coats are shorter and silkier even in winter, they are calmer even under stress, they eat better and work with focus. Our barn water is pretty acidic which doesn't let them get enough magnesium from feed only, so this was definitely the answer. I cannot recommend this enough! If your horses are excitable/nervous/anxious AND you think they aren't getting enough magnesium from their diet (research the feed, water, soil, pasture, hay in your area), you can try magnesium. Just ask your vet first! Now for the bad part... The powder isn't exactly practical to feed. It sticks to your skin when you reach for the bottom of the bag and is very annoying. A very precise kitchen scale was needed to figure out exactly how many spoons to feed. The horses probably won't like it at first (it has no taste, but would you like to eat dust?!) and most got blown away when they snorted at the strange stuff. We learned that burying the spoon-full of powder under the grain helped - the horses would take a large bite from their feed and accidentally swallow most of it, eventually licking the rest off the sides of the bowl. Visitors will sometimes wonder what is the mysterious white powder around the horse's nose, but it's still well worth the trouble! 100% recommended.

Good value
Tasteless, easy to add a measured dose, very cost effective. Provides essential mag minerals that are low in grazing on clay soil and although fed quality forage that too is farmed on sandy/clay soil. Mag ox isn't water soluble so provides a continuous buffer to gut lining from one end to the other. The Mag uptake is greater with a very small dose of ordinary table salt too, has settled my very anxious pony and is much less food aggressive. Add lib forage isn't an option but concerned that restricted forage may be causing other digestive issues. The whole herd now on it, all calmer and less antsy over breakfast.

quality and price.
I use this product to help with laminitis in ponies, using the correct dosage balances the need for magnesium which is lacking in most soils.
