My absolute Favorite store on Amazon. I have purchased moss from them several times and each time they delivered some of the best and most beautiful mosses I have seen anywhere. Fresh, green, Unique mosses that I have never seen elsewhere, perfectly shaped and still smell of the forest. They grow beautifully and look like a million bucks. Originally I got these to cover the grounds of a fairy garden, and some I placed around the plants grown in the pots...but then they looked so good and grown so beautifully that I made these pots Just for the mosses. I used shallow plates or shallow ceramic bowls with half an inch to an inch of fluffy soil or hold the water. I spray mist over them daily, to keep them wet and moist during the day. The first few days after planting, i keep them outside in the warm sun...but afterward they remain inside and somewhere they get a bit of sun through the windows...not a lot...just a little would do. I even have the moss bowls on my dining room table as a center piece and they look phenomenal!! I get a lot of complements for those. You can place them around the candles for a dinner party or use as decorations. They could be made into those live frames....placed in the space among the rocks or fireplace rock-walls. So many design ideas from such little clever plants and Appalachian Farms are the place to go for the rare and unusual moss and lichens. The variety they have does not even compare with the other stores. They carry moss and lichens that no one has even heard of, let alone sell. When they get placed all together, they create the Nature's Masterpiece. A beautiful scene that is not just beautiful and mesmerizing to look at, but also very easy to take care and cultivate. This is the second or third time I’ve ordered from this company. It might take more than a “prime delivery” but remember it is living plants they are sending and harvesting. You can tell they package it with care. It sounds silly but moss is hardy yet could be fragile If just thrown in. I ordered the variety pack and got just that. The moss arrived in perfect (if there is such thing) condition. A bonus is the company provides a little “care” instructions for anyone that isn’t sure how to care for moss. Will order again.

These beautiful little plants have made my terrariums come to life! They tuck into any extra little space and survive beautifully. I was expecting them to be fragile and fussy, but they have been great survivors so far. The one with the little red bits (not flowers apparently, but so pretty) is thriving in a tank under aquarium lights. I wanted to give them a little time to settle in before I said anything, but can now say they are good company!

If I was only reviewing this product on what arrived, I would give them 5 stars for the lovely, large bag of moss and lichen I was sent. However, if they had answered the question I asked, and answered the way a gardner friend did, I would still have living lichen. Sadly, I was only a few drops of citric juice away from not killing dozens of British Soldiers. The paper with instructions did suggest using rain water, which is a really adorable suggestion when one lives in the Mojave Desert. As it turns out, every ounce of water I can get ahold of in this place has a very high alkaline content, which is easily solvable, but deadly until then. My solution for preventing dead moss and lichen: get some pH strips, test your water, and learn how to neutralize it. That's the advice the sellers won't give you, but many other professional gardeners will.

Moss arrived in good condition. Decent variety and healthy. Vibrant colors and smelled of a healthy forest. Recived more than expected and survived long time in bag as I ran out of room in my propagation ben. Will definitely purchase again.

Used it making my first terrarium! There was more moss in the bag than I expected and it was vert tidy, no bugs, and seemed really nice! I like that there was an information sheet inside and it got here in good time. Well packaged, moss was really moist but well sealed. Definitely excited to order more sometime! There were also a wider range of types and size pieces than expected and it was nice to try different ones for the project.
