It definitely helps with alignment during sitting. That said, I do find the sitting area to be too small for wide hips. It is made of a unique material that is easily cleaned and does not degrade as quickly as other cushions. It also is less likely to absorb body odors. The major problem I have with it is the smell of the cushion itself. It gives off a strong chemical odor that has not dissipated with five days of airing.
