Superficial Overview of WW2
The book follows the timeline of WW2 in a very condensed style. Probably the fact that I have done rather a lot of reading on this subject makes this offering seem rather cursory, and at times not particularly accurate. Again to shorten such a huge subject to this length is necesarily going to involve some serious compromises. Perhaps the book will be useful to someone who has no background understanding of the subject, and hence it may whet their appetite for more in-depth coverage. I remember as a young scientist reading that some concepts in physics simply couldn't be simplified beyone a certain point. This book tries to simply beyong that level. Of course my alternative is not very attractive: books such as Churchills 6 volume history of the war, Tol's Pacific War triology, Shirer's Rise and Fall of the 3rd Reich, or Glantz's Stalingrad series among many others. It's all right to read but perhaps only if you promise yourself to read the big stuff eventually so that you actually delve meaningfully into a very complex and terrible subject.

Great quick read on WWII
The book was well written and easy to follow. A super book for teens and young adults who want a quick summary of key WWII battles. One major mistake, however, at the very end (p. 156) you incorrectly identify the Americans raising the flag on Iwo Jima as "soldiers;" they most certainly were not! They were Marines. Semper Fi.

enjoy the read
This was a predictable book but did provide some insightful analysis of the battles. Enjoyed it. Would recommend it to others.

Bland
Disappointed in the stories that were written. I have read many of the stories in this book and were much more informative. The plus was the hard cover of the book

Thorough and informative This truly brings the battles back to life with the intricate details and the author’s great storytelling skills, especially with the pictures that have been placed in the book. It is obvious the amount of research that has gone into this book, but what I liked that the book didn’t just give an account of the battles that took place, but explained each battles importance and what would have happened if things had gone differently. Highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to learn about WWII

A riveting dive into the lesser-known battles of World War II, this book shines a light on pivotal events often overlooked in history lessons. A must-read for history enthusiasts wanting a more comprehensive understanding of WWII's vast impact on global affairs. Highly recommended!
