How thick is each pad?

As of March 15th, 2019 the thickness of the 1 X 4 inch pads I received was 1/8 inch. The compressed thickness, after applying them to my project and pressing down with maybe 50 lbs., was about 1/16 inch.

How does this work? Is there sticky adhesive on both sides?

No, there is sticky adhesive on one side. That is the side to attach to the item you don't want to slide. The rest of the of the the block is non-skid. This can be easily cut to whatever size you keed.

can these be glued since they do NOT stay on??

I don't know what glue you'd use, but I've had good results with double sided tape. Specifically product code : B07GWRV1ZF which is 6mm x 25M Clear Double Sided Strong Adhesive Tape for Mobile Phone Laptop Camera LCD Screen Repair. They make other sizes, but I have this on hand for other projects. I suppose one could use double sided carpet tape, but I find that a bit messy for whatever reason.

will these work on carpet? My couch has wooden legs so will slide a little when the kids jump on it.

I recommend the rubber feet that can be screwed in to the bottom of the furniture legs. I have the same problem with kids and this was the solution! The sticky ones all move over time. And I’ve tried many…
