Product Description Sub Terra is a cooperative survival horror board game. You and up to five friends are cave explorers who have become trapped deep underground. You must quickly explore a tile-based cave system to find the way out before your flashlights die and you're lost in the darkness forever. You'll need to work together to overcome deadly subterranean hazards - stick together for safety, or split up to cover more ground. One wrong step could knock you unconscious and your friends will need to stage a rescue. Light and hope are scarce. And worst of all, you don't think you're alone down here... Sub Terra delivers a consistently engaging and challenge game experience to everyone, whether newcomers to the tabletop hobby or hardened veterans of the dank caves below... £368,256 raised with 6,626 backers Can we make a game that scares people? Tim, the game's designer, started off the Sub Terra project with an idea. Is it possible to design a tabletop game that solicits a genuine emotional reaction from its players? In other wildly popular cooperative tabletop games there has been a common thread of feeling throughout the experience that you're emotionally connected to your characters, your world, and even the game itself. What Tim set out to do was to develop an experience that created a sense of foreboding and dread. Through careful character design and engineering the decision making systems of the game - we arrived at a design that consistently creates an experience similar to survival horror movie classics, with players feeling immersed. Intuitive Rules & Symbology Working as an integrated team between production, game design, graphic design and artwork, we were able to produce a cohesive and intuitive visual system to enable an easy learning curve, and to ensure players don't have to constantly refer to the rulebook and focus on their game experience. Language Independent By utilising our intuitive symbology system, we've engineered the game components to be entirely language independent, meaning you don't have to speak English to play the game, as all rules are represented by intuitive diagrams. We've also produced rulebooks in 25 languages thanks to our incredible backer community. Incredible Component Finish Due to the sheer number of backers on Sub Terra's Kickstarter campaign, we were able to ensure every single component had all the best possible finishes and materials, including dense and durable blackcore tiles, robust plastic tokens, customised player 'meeples', glow in the dark die, and even UV reactive tile art! Engaging, Adaptive & Challenging Experience By providing a set up sequence that takes into account players ability and desire for a challenge, alongside an introductory mode, Sub Terra provides an experience that plays well for new players as well as those who've played the game many times before. The progressive construction of the 'cave' as players explore their way to the exit ensures that no two games will ever be the same, and the difficulty settings coupled with the turn-by-turn 'hazards' that present a new obstacle each round provide a consistently engaging experience, as players struggle to reach the light of day. Accessible Cooperative Play Being a cooperative game, especially an accessible one, makes Sub Terra a fantastic way to engage mixed groups of players, whether young or old, new to the hobby or a seasoned veteran. By progressively unfolding rules and corner cases throughout the game experience rather than requiring players to absorb everything at the start, and directly incentivising collaboration, it ensures a positive experience for *every* player. Tim, Sub Terra's designer, presented his idea to the Wyvern's Lair at the 2016 UK Games Expo, where we were privileged to be in one of the judges' seats. After an incredibly lucid and compelling pitch, we teamed up with Tim to produce the product we have now, the Sub Terra that looks, plays and even feels as good as it can do. Tim's original inspiration came from survival horror movies, as well as atmospheric video games, while the ITB team also went as far as a caving trip in Wales to experience what caving actually felt like! This was wildly popular and created an incredibly engaged and positive crowd of people willing the project forward, while directly contributing to its success.

This game is one of my favourite board games of all time as it’s simple and exciting to dive into. Without giving to much away you play a group of survivors who get trapped in the caves and it’s your mission to find the exit and escape. Easy right? Well you unveil pieces of board but the journey to freedom is random and could lead to trouble even dead ends if not positioned correctly. You can play up to 6 players or even on your own which you take control of 4 characters. Not much can be said about this game other than BUY IT! it really is a lot of fun

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An excellent game - Buy it!

This game is so great we played it non stop when we went to visit friends. They loved it so much we gave them ours and we're going to buy another one for ourselves. I HIGHLY recommend getting all the Sub Terra expansions, the characters from the expansion are better than the originals and the new threats add an extra level of fun to the game.
