Caveat emptor!
There is no space under the base to accommodate the house wiring connectors. The hole in the base for the wires is to one side. If fitting where a previous light fitting was it has to be fitted to one side, rather than over where the previous fitting was. I've just returned this, but worst of all I had to pay return postage - and this is Amazon! So incredibly annoying!

Perfect for low ceiling.
This was just exactly what I needed for the low ceiling in my old cottage. It is just a shade and not an integral led fitting that would need to be replaced when the bulb went. We can use the bulb of our choosing and simply change it when it expires. Nice, neat, compact and unobtrusive, giving a lovely diffused light.
