Very happy with this purchase and can report that arrived as expected and was easy to set up. Only slight negative I can think of is the initial usage can be a little bit tricky until you get used to the menu usage.As said though, very happy with this DVD player and would happily purchase again, as the price was also very good and competative.

Item arrived on time same day; well packaged; nice design, compact and very good picture. very easy to set up; only owned one day but overall faultless and good value for price. One criticism for Amazon! I have a porch; every driver places deliveries in my porch except this one! It was left in the dark on my path - if it had been raining you would be receiving a returned drowned dvd player

Arrived same day so super fast delivery.Small and compact DVD player just what I needed for my space, actually surprised at just how small it is, barely bigger than the DVD case.Easy to set up, almost plug and play its that simple. Everything you need is in the box including a HDMI cable and batteries for the remote. The remote works well and the picture format is easily changed to fit the screen using the very basic settings menu.Lost a star due to the HDMI cable being far too short, unless unlike me you are putting the DVD right beneath your TV, but I happened to have a spare HDMI in a longer length so no issue for me. The unit is very light and very plasticy but for the price £23 I'm hardly going to complain.Time will tell if I have any function issues but for now Im glad to have a cheap little DVD player so I can rewatch some old movies I haven't seen in years.So far so good......

Such a great deal, and a great little player -- don't let that brilliant DVD collection of yours go to waste!While DVDs may have fallen out of fashion, we still enjoying watching the discs we have amassed over the years, especially when the internet goes out and we can't stream anything (which is rare, but when it does happen... ugh!).So when the player we've had for only a few years failed, we felt fortunate to find this one here at Amazon. Because, would you believe, it's pretty much impossible to walk into a home electronics store and purchase a DVD player? Most places simply don't carry them anymore.We've had this player for only a few months, but it's been great, right from the start. Setting it up was a cinch, and it comes with the both an HDMI cable and an RCA cable, so there's no sweating the hook-up.The player and remote are straightforward and easy-peasy to use, and DVDs play effortlessly (so far, no static build-up issues, which as we all know can be really annoying, when you have to take the disc out and wipe it on your jeans...). All in all, it's a very impressive machine for the price.

excellent value for money

Super happy with this little unit. It’s not noisy. Much much better than the noisy Sony i bought. I’ve not yet tried a region 1 dvd in it yet (says it is multi-regional) and will update once i have (awaiting delivery of dvd from the US). Fantastic value for money. I was dubious as never heard of the brand oakcastle - but it is MUCH better than the sony player - i guess because sony probably don’t make their own dvd players anymore. I’ve given it 5 stars. I only got it today! Set it up easily. And enjoying my DVDs! Will update again in a few weeks - hopefully it will be working just as well then too!As promised- an update. DVD player still working! And it is playing region 1 DVDs! Still quiet in operation. Still super happy with this player. Recommend!

Just what I wanted

Whilst playing DVD the TV screen goes black for about 20 secs quite often.I have checked leads, re-entered the DVD in and out, and it played fine. Definitely the player.Cannot watch a full DVD.Past the return date, so not happy.

Sorry to say that it didn't meet the requirement as I was expecting a MP4 player rather a DVD player. Even in the menu, that was not clear. The seller as well not clearly told what this product is and set that it is been imported from US.

Super happy with this regular DVD player ! Someone kindly gave us some dvd's for Christmas and we realized that our old one ( 15 yrs old) had stopped working. We do not have any Blu ray disc's so this was exactly what we needed. It hooked up to a very old smart LG TV with the included hdmi wire. Worked with no issues and was very intuitive to use, wish I could say the same for the stupid LG remote and screen interface. Now I have an excuse to buy a set of the Jurassic Park movies : ) Shipping was fast considering we live in Maine and there is no next day or even two day shipping up here in our area.

Bought this primarily to play CDs through my audio system and very pleased it handles factory and burned CDs extremely well. Plus plays/displays data from MP3 files as well. Simple setup, basic timer display. At this price, can't beat it!
