I have tried many calligraphy workbooks and this one is my favorite so far. Its more modern calligraphy, which is what I like. I love that it has the basics on upstrokes and downstrokes. I absolutely love that there are more fully written words. That has helped me write more smoothly. Other books I've gotten tend to stick with just single letter practicing only. The full words and sentences definitely helped me pick up the flow much easier. Definitely recommend!

Bought for my son and he loves this book

I loved the book, but the pages bleed through. When you turn the page to work on the next page, you can't see what you should be working on next. I love everything else about it. It allows for the practice that is needed to perfect the strokes and learn the letters. But, I sure do hate the bleeding through on the page....

Its a soft cover book with a lovely textured cover. It did arrive bent in an envelope bag, (FYI they also had a glass jar of ink in the same envelope not the greatest packaging job, but that's on amazon). It does touch upon the calligraphy basics, with positive affirmations as you go through the exercises contained in the book. It was a little juvenile for my taste, but definately for beginners. The downside to the book the calligraphy styling is so very close to the penmanship we learned in elementary school. So it's not for me, but for those who do not have experience with handwriting and real penmanship this is a great start.

Good quality and very helpful for learning. However the pages are a little thin and i’m worrying about the markers bleeding. Got as a christmas gift.

Great buy for someone just starting to do calligraphy. Lots of practice pages and in depth how to. Very good price for the book.

It’s a great book to practice and learn. And the exercises inside help to train the muscles in the hand and wrist. This helps in turn to improve posture and grip of pen.
