As of April 2024, this desk is now only $200.Foremost - do NOT let the fact that the surface comes in two pieces deter you from purchasing this. This desk is extremely stable and study. The desk surface is completely scratch resistant, don't worry about writing too hard on it and leaving indentions. Yes, the reason they can make this desk so cheap is because they can ship it in a much smaller box by splitting the surface in two. However, the seam is far back enough so that you'd never even remember that it's there. From front to seam, it is 18.75 In. Unless perhaps you're using it for large paper-based art. If so, then yes, the seam would be susceptible to leaving holes in paper were a pencil to forcefully run across it. I've never once had that problem, but there is indeed an indention.If you plan to use a computer on this desk as I do for work, then the value and quality of this product is unlike anything else on this website. Competitors of lesser quality are often nearly twice the price.The stability is honestly hard to believe.
