This charger completely charges two batteries at a time, makes firm electrical connections, shows a red light for each cell while charging, shuts off and shows a green light for each cell when completely charged. I have not owned it long enough to rate it's longevity, and since it is charger (not a battery), it's not responsible for "battery life". Review: It works! My VersaPak-powered tool is back in service. - It works! I have a Black and Decker VersaPak drill and screwdriver. The original company evidently stopped making supplies for these. Something had failed, it was not working so I needed replacement components. I ordered this charger and new batteries. It works!
