I kept wanting to know what would happen next, and there were several twists throughout that kept things interesting. The pacing moved quickly and the shorter chapters made it really easy to fly through. It had that “just one more chapter” feeling the whole time. Fans of mystery, secrets, and dramatic thrillers will probably really enjoy this one. Overall, a gripping and entertaining read that kept my attention from start to finish. This was just as good as the other Housemaid novels. For background on Millie and Enzo, it definitely helps if you’ve read the first two novels. This one is set a decade later, in which Millie has 2 children, and is no longer a Housemaid. She’s a social worker, which - though maybe a bit unrealistic given her prior years in prison- is a perfect job based on her willingness to help other women in need. The first half of the book is somehow both fast-paced, and also a slowish burn. I felt there was some repetitiveness in Millie’s thoughts about Enzo’s secrets, especially his possible infidelity. It’s exciting to read, but just when you think the plot’s going to really move, the author pulls back, and it only inches forward. Normally building this type of suspense is great, but I think the author did it a few too many times. The other thing I found a bit puzzling was the hesitation between Millie and Enzo to communicate with each other about what they were separately doing. If you’ve read the other 2 books you know that, both separately and together, Millie and Enzo have done a number of criminal things (even though they were done to protect themselves, or others). Their unwillingness to truthfully communicate - mostly from Enzo’s side - after having gone through so much together, felt a little out of character. Those two areas are why I gave this book a 4 instead of a 5. Otherwise, this book was terrific. An attentive reader might guess some things, but would be unlikely to figure it all out. As the book progresses, the pages fly by. You can’t stop reading. Millie is, and always has been, a very likable and sympathetic character. Enzo is more of a mystery, but also very likable (and apparently VERY hot, which contributes to driving the plot). And Millie’s 2 very different children, Nico and Ada, are written realistically, with the mix of doubt and happiness that children aged 11 and 9 normally have. If you’ve read and liked the previous Housemaid books, you’ll like this one. If you haven’t, go back to read the first 2, and then come back to this one.

Another Addictive Thriller With Great Twists
If you enjoy psychological thrillers that keep you guessing, this book is definitely worth reading. The story pulled me in quickly and had a lot of suspenseful moments that made it hard to stop reading. I kept wanting to know what would happen next, and there were several twists throughout that kept things interesting. The pacing moved quickly and the shorter chapters made it really easy to fly through. It had that “just one more chapter” feeling the whole time. Fans of mystery, secrets, and dramatic thrillers will probably really enjoy this one. Overall, a gripping and entertaining read that kept my attention from start to finish.

A good one!
It was good! I just knew that there was more after they came to the “conclusion” since there was so much more left in the book so a little more predictable than the others. But still very good.

Fun casual read
I've been going through all the Frieda McFadden books over the past 6 months. The Housemaid series is definitely her best work. I'm not surprised she got a movie deal. I'm not good at writing book reviews but all her books are good. They're not long, use simple language, no explicit sexual narrative, quick and easy to read. There's a lot of talk in all her books about weight, body sizes, etc. and I am not a fan of that I find it triggering. A lot of oggling at the men. All of her books she has to mention so and so is scarfing food down, she's fat and needs to get her roots touched up. That's the common theme honestly. It's fun to try to figure out the twists and then most of the time it ends up being the most random ridiculous thing. Makes me laugh. I am getting better at figuring them out though.

Now It Makes Sense
Ive read all 3 "Housemaids" books by Freida McFadden now. This one dragged a little compared to the other two, but was still a worthy suspenseful book. I enjoy her style of writing. Shorter chapters with a plot that makes you want to read just another chapter. Plenty of plot twists as in all her books. This latest of them brought the story full circle. I do recommend it.

Bow down to the queen!!
SHE IS SIMPLY THE QUEEN OF TWISTS AND TURNS!!! Love her books!!!!! Going to try Never Lie next because I am ADDICTED!!!!! And it has to be said, I give props to her for such an amazing read without all the gory details!! Its all about the quality of the writing and not the relying on the "gross" to hold weight.

Lots of twists that you don’t see coming. Keeps you locked in until the very end. The entire Housemaid series is amazing.

good thriller!
Another good thriller- i thought i had predicted this book half way through and it took a turn i wasn’t expecting. 4 stars for slow start but a good ending!

I recently found this author after been given The Housemaid. Since then I've read all 3 H/Me books back to back and cut wait to start Dear Debbie. This was a brilliant read with twists right up till the end. You've gotta read it...

La chiusura perfetta della saga
Che dire? Assolutamente eccezionale. L’autrice ha saputo chiudere la saga con dei colpi di scena inaspettati! Ho letteralmente divorato l’ultimo volume in soli due giorni, e ora me ne pento perché so che non leggerò più di Millie. Ho amato come la trama dell’ultimo libro si incastra perfettamente con i precedenti. Cinque stelle meritatissime.

前2作が最初からスリリングだったのに比べると、これは前半が穏やかです。でも何となく不穏。そして、後半の展開は正にジェットコースター。一部都合良過ぎる気もしますが、面白かったので良し！このシリーズは3冊ともお勧めです。
