A treasure trove with a minor flaw
We've been waiting for a translation of this book for years, and here it is at last. Overall, it's superb. The text is very clear and usable. Only thing, some of the images of the more complex talismans have been poorly reproduced. It's a tradition based upon exact spelling and use of letters, and in some places it's impossible to tell which letters are being used. It would be even worse for a non-Arabic reader. That's a very small problem, though. The book is wonderful. An absolute treasure trove!

Difficult language
The translation could be better. It seems that writer did direct translation or word to word translation which makes it difficult to understand. The wording could be better

Magnificient.
Being in the learning stages of classical Arabic, I can't comment much on the quality of the translation from Arabic to English. It isn't the only translation of the Shams Al Ma'arif in a Western language, but I do find great value in this one, focused on the 99 names of God and more content. Thank you, sir Voldemont! PS: Thanks, now my own copy has become rare since I bought it very early!
