This is one Helluva Cabinet! I need to order like 3 more of these, and achieve organization perfection
I really wanted a black storage cabinet, but after realizing that all of the black storage cabinets available are flimsy, I decided to get this one and paint it black. This is one sturdy cabinet! It arrived in a big, heavy package, and I had to help the UPS driver get it off her truck. Rather than try to carry it up my driveway, I took a boxcutter and opened it right on my lawn, then carried it up a few pieces at a time. The directions are super-easy to follow, and I decided that it would be fun to complicate things by building a platform on wheels, upon which to erect this mighty cabinet. My husband cussed up a storm, but successfully completed both the platform on wheels and the cabinet assembly in a single afternoon. I would have done it myself, but he commandeered the project under the guise of "helping". Works every time! Seriously, I don't know how we ever managed to live without this cabinet. It holds a ton of stuff, and it looks fantastic! In fact, it looked great in white, with its nice modern handles, so I decided to hold off on the painting. I did, however, add two more shelves, just because I could. This was incredibly easy - I took one of the shelves to my local big orange box store, and had the guy in lumber cut me two more pieces of the shelf material to the exact same size. This was so cheap I thought they must have miscalculated the price, and I got to keep the uncut leftover piece for my next project, a linen closet with adjustable shelves. I bought a little package of shelf peg thingies there, too. Now, the holes for the shelf peg thingies don't go all the way up and down inside the entire cabinet, which means you are slightly limited in your shelf placement, unless you decide to drill more holes. However, it worked out perfectly for me -- I moved both of the movable shelves and their pegs to the highest position, and added my extra shelves and pegs to the lowest positions, which created two extra "mini-shelves" tall enough for cans of soup, boxes of jello, skillets, etc. The four "tall" shelves are plenty tall enough for everything tall, or everything medium, stacked double. Plus, the very top of the cabinet is like another shelf. The total amount of storage space is stunning. I want to get at least three more of these, for the garage, the laundry room, and the extra bedroom where we put assorted items we don't know where to put. "A place for everything, and everything in its place" might actually happen! I can't think of a single negative about this cabinet. If I had to come up with something negative, just so you know it's a real review from a genuine human cabinet consumer, not some fake one written by someone getting paid one-half an American dollar to write fake reviews, it would be that the packaging material is unbelievably sturdy. Seriously, I went through like four blades on my husband's boxcutter thingie, cutting up the packaging material so I could bag it up for the trash guys. In hindsight, I should have removed the shipping labels and put it out by the curb with a big sign, "Hey kids! FREE Clubhouse! FREE Fort!"

Great quality, nice doors and handles... Fantastic value
This is a quality cabinet! Utility cabinets in this category aren't usually the most glamorous pieces of furniture, but this is the best quality one I've ever bought. I've had ones from Home Depot and other outlets, including some similar things from Ikea, but this cabinet is made better than any of them. The box it arrives in is hideously heavy... UPS has it listed at 121 lbs and the product description says 126 lbs. Just know that no matter how strong you are, lugging this somewhere without a dolly is going to be difficult to do alone. The parts were well packaged and there was no damage to any of them, but one of the doors arrived with glue all over it. It must have been a manufacturing defect that nobody noticed. I contacted the manufacturer and they are shipping me a new one free of charge. Fast, no-hassle service. Assembly took about 35 minutes with a power drill and I did it alone. The instructions are simple to follow and assembly was easy. You'll need a Phillips head screwdriver, and a hammer to nail the back on. The cabinet is pretty sturdy and I have no worries that it will hold the great deal of items I will be storing in it. Two shelves are adjustable. The doors have 6-way adjustable hinges, which helped me eliminated the gap that originally appeared between the two doors. They will also help you make sure there is a tight seal between the doors and cabinet and so the doors are on straight. I like the metal door handles, which look much nicer than the plastic handles that come with most other utility cabinets. The doors have rounded edges, giving it a less utility-like feel to them. I also ordered the top cabinets for extra storage space. I'm glad I found this cabinet, and at a better price than lesser-quality ones at Home Depot.

Trick to get Perfect Door Gaps
I'm grading on a curve, since in the larger scheme of things, this is probably a 2-3 star kind of thing- and not a particularly quality nor heavy-duty cabinet. 4 stars, since it meets expectations and I pretty much knew what I was buying. Packaging is adequate, not superb, and I got lucky that it arrived without any major damage. One of the side boards (left side) has about a 5" long shallow gouge on the outside face that does not break the laminate finish, and fortunately for the location I'm putting this, it won't be seen. Assembly was easy and straightforward, no surprises or drama. The door pulls are very nice and weighty- definitely kitchen cabinet grade. However, the hinges are on the cheap side. These type of concealed hinges are not all alike. The better ones have quick connect/disconnect latches for attaching the door to the cabinet, have better adjustment mechanisms, and are soft close. The included hinges have none of that. Otherwise, the composite wood (i.e. particle board) parts are attractive (for a garage or laundry room placement), reasonably true, and have a nice (though maybe not terribly durable) finish. Here's the trick to adjusting the doors to minimize the gap and any crookedness: Since these are cheap hinges, the securing screw in the center of the hinge plate (the part mounted inside the cabinet in Step 4) needs to be loosened first in order to give the adjustment screw some range of motion. This is not mentioned in the assembly instructions. It's a bit of dance: loosen the center screw and tighten the adjustment screw a little bit, then check the gap. You'll probably need to do this at all four hinges and repeat a few times to get a tight and straight gap- be patient with the process. You'll notice that the center screw will get TIGHT after turning the adjusting screw in the clockwise direction. If this is the case, loosen the adjustment screw a tiny bit to take some tension off the center screw. Like I said, be patient and adjust a little at a time and you'll be rewarded with barely a gap between the doors. Of course if the doors touch, then do the opposite- counter-clockwise on the adjusting screw first then tighten the center screw. Last thought: As is, the raw edge of the particle board sits directly on the floor- and particle board absorbs water like a sponge. So keep that in mind. Since the 22" sides and front kick plate sit on floor, any irregularities or unevenness in the floor will cause the cabinet to be wobbly or not parallel with the wall (or both). It would be nice if this had some adjustable feet to elevate the cabinet slightly so that spilt water or mopping won't result in damage and provide the ability to compensate for less than perfect flooring.

This is exactly what I needed!
I bought this and the topper cabinet to store all the garden goodies I canned. I haven't yet loaded all the stuff in it but the cabinet looks sturdy enough to handle my many pint jars. While I was waiting for delivery, I finished reading the reviews. Retrodog gave it 4 stars and explained some of the things he did during assembly....such as using #4 1/2" screws to attach the back. I chose to do the same and I am glad I did. It took less time to assemble and I think it is sturdier. He also suggested a way to mark the back to make it easy to put screws across where the fixed shelf is located. I still have to do a little adjusting of the hinges but I don't regret my purchase. Retrodog also recommended using the sturdier metal shelf pins in a 5mm size...another very good suggestion which I used. I think I will be very happy with this cabinet and the matching topper. I might get a second one in the spring to replace the pathetic cabinet I have in my laundry room. I am a 62 year old woman and I was able to do this project by myself!!!!! I'm sure I'll feel some muscles that don't get much use come morning but it will be worthy it!! Update on 24 November 2013: This cabinet and the topper have been perfect for my needs as a pantry. It is wonderful to be able to keep all my home canned goodies in one place and have a place for the empty jars. My daughter was here for a visit and she was very impressed with the quality of the cabinet. I still need to fine tune the hinges but I'm not too worried about it since they don't gap that much. Very happy I bought these units and plan to buy other furniture by Prepac in the future.

Excellent!!!
Perfect for what I needed in my office. I bought two which fit very nice against a wall. Plenty of room with deep shelves. These cabinets are STRONG! It took me from 0930 am til 0430 pm to unpackage and build both. I’m 68 yrs old and had NO help. They delivered weighing greater than 80 lbs each so I got them in the door from the front porch with great effort. Unpacked them from my foyer and began to build one then the other in my office. They are worth the effort The predrilled holes are correct, no problems. The hardware is high quality and the doors have a clean open and close motion. You are given extra nails, screws and shelving tabs that hold the shelves. You won’t be disappointed! Even my little cat approves!

Great quality cabinets and affordable!
We had purchased two of these for our garage. First one over a year ago and another one back in the Spring of this year. Loved them so much - we decided we needed another! Totally happy with these cabinets. Good quality - not flimsy - and easy enough for my husband to put together. If we had more room in our garage, we'd buy more! Great storage and modern looking with the door handle! Totally recommend!

Do you like a flimsy, expensive cabinet w/engineering flaws? Then this is for you!
I looked at this cabinet for a few weeks before I decided to purchase it. I went through and read all the reviews from 1 star to 5 stars and saw that a majority of the reviews were positive, so I finally purchased it. I was so excited because our new house didn’t have much storage and I was planning on using this as a hallway cabinet to hold our bath towels and other stuff. Here’s the only PRO I can give you: I love the color and it didn’t take long to assemble it. That’s it. CONS: You might want to pour a drink before you read the list of CONS. I can’t believe there’s a company that actually manufactures this crap. Since it didn’t take us long to assemble it, that means it didn’t take us long to become disappointed. You would think something that weighs 104 pounds would be sturdy, right? Wrong. Not only that, you can easily sway the cabinet (once it’s assembled) left or right, meaning it is not sturdy at all. If we had kids, we would’ve either tried to return it or put it in the fire pit. That’s how bad it is. Oh, if you’re not good with anything other than pictorial directions, you’ll be screwed. No one within the company that designs this product thought it would be pertinent to actually label the shelves, so you’re on your own on figuring out which shelf goes where. It gets better…. Another big engineering flaw: the cabinet doors that open and close are so heavy that you have to anchor it to the wall because as soon as you open the doors, it tilts forward. If you have small children that like to climb stuff, do NOT purchase this product. This is the first piece of furniture we’ve had to anchor in our home and we have 2 huge hutches that we have no worries with. Ridiculous. After we followed the directions, the end product showed outside doors that didn’t line up—the right door is higher than the left one. The only way to fix this is to re-drill more holes in one of the doors which would be a total pain. Here’s another flaw: after all of this, the shelf supports (that you can move up and down so you can place the shelf) are PLASTIC…not metal. This means if one of them breaks, you’re SOL or you need to go to your local hardware store and hope they have the same size shelf support. BOTTOM LINE: if you’re placing this cabinet somewhere where it doesn’t matter what it looks like (garage, laundry room, attic), you'll be fine. But if you’re looking for a piece of furniture that has competent directions, strong, with doors that should align, then you’re going to be disappointed. I will never buy anything from this company again. Lesson learned.

Easy to Assemble and Lots of Storage
This shelving unit is HEAVY. 100lbs shipped to your door; be prepared to have someone help you move it, or have sliders to drag one end on the ground while it’s still in the box. You’ll need lots of space to build; cut the box down flat so you don’t scratch the finish while assembling. Grab yourself an electric drill, or you’ll end up with blisters screwing in each section by hand. Product is well made and easy to assemble. I had my teenage son do it while I sat back and had a cold drink. This is going in the basement kitchen where storage is minimal. Shelves are nice and deep unlike other units available. I originally looked at one from IKEA but it was pretty flimsy when seeing in person. This fits my criteria and budget.

Nice cabinet. Packaging could be more protective.
Clean lines. Well made, easy to assemble. It's held up to 6 months of daily use so far. It is deeper than most of the competing cabinets, so it fits even my biggest pots. It's HEAVY and the delivery guy couldn't get it to my door. Arrived slightly damaged. Fortunately the damage is in an inconspicuous place.
