Dakine Heli Pack 12L - Painted Canyon, One Size

I ski the front side groomers almost exclusively and wanted a small pack to carry a few essentials, such as a lunch, snacks, H2O, energy bars, glasses etc. with room to spare. If you're of the same philosophy, this pack will more than meet your expectations. Equally important was the profile. Because it's only about 4-5 inches in depth, it hugs your back and and won't throw you off balance while you're warp factoring down the slope. Also, when sitting down on the chair lift, you won't feel like you're being pushed off. Plenty of straps to keep it from flopping around on your back. I preferred to wear the pack without connecting the hip belt. What worked best for me was latching and then tying the excess strap together. This kept the belt out of the way yet still very comfortable. By doing so, it allowed total freedom of movement. The shoulder straps are very comfortable and more than enough to keep the pack snug. For added protection and/or comfort, you can latch & cinch the chest strap to a perfect fit. Overall, very pleased with this pack. Chose the color black. From a stylistic view point, black goes with everything! In summary, the Dakine Heli Pack12 Liter is a very versatile, well made pack and looks great too. Highly recommended.

It was perfect for a week in Bail and Beaver Creek. Carried all the sunblock, Advil, spare gloves, and extras without any bulk or discomfort. Forgot it was there most of the time but dang it looks good in the pictures. Highly recommend a wide shallow bladder, not a narrow thick one for chairlift comfort.

I don’t normally write reviews, but this pack is amazing! I go through a lot of backpacks for hiking, fishing, work, etc. this one is BY FAR the best quality I’ve ever seen. I originally got it just for snowboarding but I find myself using it for everything now; it’s my go to backpack. It’s obviously going to last me a very very long time but what I like the most is that it’s never floppy. It always stands up straight with no items hanging down on the bottom, and it doesn’t swing around… it fits very snug on the shoulders. The zippers are amazing quality and the fabric you’d have to seriously try hard to tear it. 10/10 it’s worth all the money it will probably last me a lifetime. Good job Dakine very impressed !!

Was looking for a small light pack for ski/boarding. Very satisfied with this pack. It doesn't fit much more than an extra layer, a water bladder, goggles and some food but TBH that is exactly what I wanted. Would recommend. Can also be used as a small EDC bag too.

Pack will easily fit a 6 pack, very thin profile great on the lift.

Love this back pack for snowboarding, it’s perfect. It is the perfect size to hold what I need without being to big and bulky. I can ride and feel free like I don’t have a back pack on and cruise through the trees without it getting snagged on trees. Highly recommend this back pack.

I have been using this bag for the past two ski seasons and it has been great. I bought an insulated bladder and tube for a hydration pack and it works great with it. The only annoyance is having to unbuckle to straps to open the main pocket

To unzip the main bag you have to unclip the back piece everytime which I find annoying to say the least. Could do with more pockets

Sehr schöner Rucksack, ist bereits mein zweiter Heli-Pack. Benutze den Rucksack zum biken und boarden. Hat einige kleine Taschen und Fächer und gute Funktionen, Hüft- und Brustgurt. Qualität ist gut, ist abwaschbar, kann man aber auch in die Waschmaschine stecken (30°). Preis ist etwas überhöht, aber aufgrund der guten Qualität akzeptabel.
