Excellent design, but requires thoughtful handling while tightening. The mechanism inside to select which position you’re tightening from (based on the size of your work piece) is very tiny and can easily rotate inside the vise to a useless angle. It seems a bit short, but little can be done about that… it is what it is. After working with this vise for a few minutes your fingertips will develop a sense for when the ratcheting piece is properly placed in one of its notch sets and you simply have to maintain pressure from underneath to keep it where it belongs as you tighten the moving jaw with the Allen wrench. The moving jaw is a fraction of a millimeter narrower than the overall body (26 mm) of the vise so that you can loosen it when the small vise is being held by a larger one. There are built-in parallels for mounting small objects and the overall height of the thing is just right to clear the tops of my two inch vises. Wonderful design, really.

Really handy for small part, jaws and flat areas are .0002”ish.. Works well for me!

It's used to hold a group of small brass disks in order to drill a .030" oriface in each one. The vise wil be fastened to the base of a precision micro drill press.
