Easy to fit and worked as expected
I bought this upgraded product having bought a replacement from another trader that had similar faults to the car's original part i.e. it did not work as expected. THIS PART is great. It is well made, clipped into place securely, and worked exactly as expected.

Major improvement
Bought this for my 2009 T5 1.9tdi, easy to fit, works perfectly and much more robust than the old Hella version, highly recommend this part.

VW T5
Easy to fit and swap out for the old one, just be careful to fit properly don't make the same simple mistake I made. After getting the glow plug/coil light come on, on my dash and a bill at a garage for £36 with several options as to fault. I replaced several items including glow plug relay (which being VW ain't cheap) and the other option was the brake light switch. The glow plug/coil light still remained on. After myself and a mate scoured the interweb we came across a forum where the same thing happened quite a bit to other T5 owners. When fitting the brake light switch you have to turn it back a touch and pump the brake pedal a few times. Then by hand press the plunger on the brake light switch a few times and make sure the tip of the plunger just touches the brake pedal. And after weeks of stress and expense the light went out and hasn't come back on some 2 months later.

Brilliant product
Awesome, much more sturdier than the OEM part. Easy to change in and out in a 5 minutes.

Defective. Also, unbranded, without product code - bad electric weld point
Bought for VW Lupo 6X0 2001 - original part this was replacing was a 2004 datecode and had clearly lasted well. Although this proves that VW made bad ones prior to the purple one that this order was intended to fix. One purpose this part had was that with the removal/insulation of terminal 2, you can test the rest of the circuit as the lights will come on. Problem is that even though the offset stalk can be set, through what appears to be tolerance issues in the plastic or the spring, or the person who assembled it, there is no circuit break position. The design is that the circuit is make and the depression of the braking footpedal causes a break. The hot zone for this is readily determinable in the purple design from VW/Audi. Original 2004 part this was being matched to was: 1J0 945 511D The original failed due to plastic wear losing the ability to force contacts open. I almost ordered the similar part listed on Amazon that is listed as Amarox but I decided not to. The one this review on is marked as Reperio Auto Parts
