iPool Umbrella

I am sun sensitive and umbrella works great to protect my skin. Though I have only had it up short time, it has already survived strong winds. My son put mine together, installed it, and reported it was easy to do. The umbrella attaches to itself through the frame and can be adjusted to suit needs. Ours is tilted down on west side for hot afternoon sun and tilted up on the east to accommodate staircase steps we purchased. On the sides, the Velcro attachment can be slid up the poles to allow more airflow. If you are getting an iPool for outside use, I consider the umbrella a must- have item.

I just threw away the second one of these that I've bought in the past four years. They do a nice job of shading the pool but only last about 2 summers before the UV rots the fabric. Will probably buy another to help keep the Ipool from becoming a hot tub in the next few weeks - unless I can find a gazebo to put up instead.

DO NOT BUY if you live in an area that has thunderstorms often. The product is cheap and is held together by Velcro. Seriously, you can’t even thread in the rods. It’s velcro or nothing. It gets better…the instructions are a xeroxed sheet that is included in the box. No link…no YouTube…nothing helpful. Shame on manufacturing company. They dropped the ball and then some. With as much as they charge for their pool, they should up their game on the accessories.

As for putting it together, if you can do a Rubik's Cube then no problem. There were no instructions with this additional cover that we purchased, and though it comes with a very nice storage bag and everything is compact and tidy, once you remove the connecting pieces it can be a bit puzzling. Fortunately my husband unraveled the mystery and whipped it together. The colors are a bit 'gaudy', almost circus-like with the blues and yellows. We live in the desert, so I wish they had more neutral colors in tans and browns for a better blend into the existing scenery, as we erected our ipool outside. Maybe they will offer optional colors in the future (I sure hope so). But as for durability, well, we didn't have this umbrella up and attached more than one day before a blasting storm came through along with some nasty hailstones, and the umbrella remained in place with out any damage whatsoever. We were very impressed! It provides excellent shading inside the pool, and in Arizona, that is a big plus! We're quite pleased, but only hope we don't draw a crowd eager to see the elephants and tigers :)

This umbrella does a good job of preventing things from falling into the pool. It also helps keep rainwater out of the pool. The material feels pretty cheap, so I'm not sure how long it will last but for now it works as expected. The one problem we've had with it is that in the wind some of the couplers for the poles twist around and the umbrella leans into the pool, but this isn't a big deal.

Not weather proof. Lasted one season.

The umbrella came quickly and well packaged. I would have rated it a 5 but came with no instructions. Once everything was unpacked and I spread it out it wasn't to hard to put together. It was easy to attach to the pool and was accommodating to our ladder with some improvising. Very nice to have on hot days.

Love the shade. Came quick. Would have been 5 stars if some setup instructions would have come with it. Took two tries to get it where I think it should be. It may not be put up correct now, but I love it. I can move around and get sun if I like or stay in the shade and soak.
