I use it in bed to hold my kindle and it can take a little effort to get the arm in a position where it’s a good reading position and doesn’t tip forward or back due to the weight - It could do with having a counter weight on the bottom. The arm itself does stay in position well. There are pull cords on the arms which helps to release the device when you’re done.
