Other than a price difference, what's the difference between Duxtop induction burners? 9100,8100,7100?

What are the 15 temperature settings? I have an earlier model Duxtop, without two temperature settings I think I would find useful... 190F and 200F. Does the 9300ST have those two settings? My present unit has 180F and the next setting is 210F.

What is the largest diameter pan this can handle? Can it handle a 12" skillet?

When I boil a pot of water I can tell by the bubbles that the heated area is the inner circle, 5" diameter. I have a 10" fry pan and when I try to make an omelet it cooks in the middle but stays raw on the outer edges. My 8" Chantal fry pan (SLIN63-20C) works great for omelets, I think because of the smaller size but also because it has a thick base that conducts heat really well, so it heats evenly.

If you're just boiling or simmering liquid, you can go bigger diameter.

Is this 2-prong or 3-prong plug?

It’s a two-prong (ungrounded) plug, because the case is non-conducting.

The idea behind a grounded cord is to protect the people who use metal-encased appliances from electric shock. The metal casing is wired directly to the ground prong on the plug, which is electrically identical to the neutral wire. Should a hot wire come loose and contact the inside of the metal case, the metal case will be electrified, and anyone who touches it will get a potentially fatal shock. With the case grounded, the electricity from the hot wire flows straight to ground, which trips the circuit breaker in the breaker box. Now the appliance won't work, but it won't kill you either.

Devices with insulating cases, such as the glass-and-plastic Duxtop, don’t need to be grounded because their cases already protect the user from shock.

What is the smallest diameter pot it will sense ?

It is hard to give an definitive answer. Not only the size of the cookware bottom matters (diameter of the bottom magnetic layer), the material type, iron percentage of the magnetic layer is another key factor. The thickness of the magnetic layer also matters. For example, a 4" cast iron (almost 100% iron and very thick) may work on induction cooktop, but a 5" or even 6" aluminum pan with magnetic steel bottom may not work because there is not enough magnetic material to absorb the electromagnetic waves.
