Andmon MINI250 solar electric fence kit

I recently purchased the 10 Miles Solar Electric Fence Charger, and it has exceeded my expectations! Good unit. Easy to set up. Plenty of power for horses. Have it in place for a week and solid performance with no issues. Will see how it holds up as time goes on.

I bought two of these devices. They are really good and work like they should. I use them for deer control on flower beds and the garden. I set them up in the spring and take them in after the frosts have killed off all the vegetation. One is 4 years old and the other is 3. One thing the devices really NEED is a bird deterrent, otherwise they will soon be covered on bird droppings. I made mine out of some roof flashing and 2 inch drywall screws. Sorry birdies find some other place to perch. Sometimes it is difficult to get the battery back in correctly. Otherwise a great product.

I had to mess with it quite a bit. I used a 4 ft ground rod and I fiddled with everything multiple times after being fully charged and suddenly it just worked. I also discovered that you can't use a multimeter to test because it destroyed it. An 8 month old, hyper and destructive pit bull was the first to test it out, he immediately ran to the house wanting inside and hopefully learned the first time to stay off the fence. The LED light is on the back, so if you mount it to a wood fence, you'll not only never see it but it's really hard to flip the toggle switch. It would be really NICE if they put the switch and LED light on front above the solar panel or something. Also the LED light flashes as if it's sending a pulse even when there is no actual output on the terminal. I guess you need a Joule meter to test it, I figured a MM or Non Contact Voltage Tester would work but it doesn't do anything for the latter and the former it destroyed it first pulse. So be wary of that.

I am disappointed. Very disappointed! Although it presents itself as a good valve for the money, and certainly easy to use (set up) it, in my experience and opinion, sorely lacks the power needed to dissuade and deter certain predators. It is advertised as up to 10 miles, but the model I received states up to 2 miles. (That’s quite a disparity!). But my application is for a very small garden area to keep the deer away. To my surprise and utter disappointment it did not deter the deer at all! It was eating away on my squash plants. No doubt It would have done more damage, had the camera no activated notifying me some was there. (This was at night.) I hurried outside and shooed it way.

Hello, I started using this solar electric fence charger (HELIOS Mini 250) in the fall of 2024. It initially worked as expected, but this past fall it began to perform poorly, and now it has completely stopped working. This product is used to power an electric fence for containing large animals, and its failure is a serious issue. I expected a reasonable lifespan, but the product failed far too soon. I am requesting a full refund for this defective product. Please advise how to proceed.
