Original OP-Amp Big Muffs from the late 70s, also called IC- or V4-Big Muff, hit the highest prices. That's why at EHX, we decided to put this classic pedal back at an affordable price. Smashing Pumpkins guitarist Billy Corgan, used the old OP-Amp Big Muff amp on the 1993 album Siamese Dream. Now he says, "The magic is still there. What I'm looking for! The OP-Amp Big Muff amp uses surgical amplifiers instead of transistors and three gain levels instead of the usual four. Powerful sound with crisp crunch and ideal for sound distortion as you need for bold rhythm work and rich leads. Tone, sustain and volume controller, plus True Bypass Switching tone bypass switch, can be used with 9V battery or optional EHX9.6DC-200 AC adapter. Dimensions: 70 x 115 x 54 mm

This pedal just changed everything. Where was this all my life? It’s ridiculously good. It loves my MXR Rockman, and reverb makes it sound huge. Just on its own it’s incredible. It’s a whole, complete thing in and of itself that enhances everything else.

Impeccable tone paired through an entry level modeling amp (blackstar IDcoreV4). Awesome for stoner/sludge rock. Great build quality and design. I recommend lowering the gain and maxing the volume on your amp, then using the pedal's volume knob as the de-facto volume control; this is how I was able to get the best tone.
