I finally installed the USB Hub but found some kind of problem with the USB 3.0 ports. The USB device plug won't go all the way into the hub? I'm not sure why, I tried USB 3.0 devices as well as some USB 2.0 and found they don't want to work most of the time. Some will work for a time, then disconnect without my doing anything. I really wanted to connect my external disk using them but for now I have them on a 2.0 hub.

Although this claims to be a USB3.x hub, plugging a USB3.2 device into it (see photo) showed up on a USB2 part of the tree, yielding terrible read/write speeds of about 40MB/s, whereas plugging the same drive (a Samsung T7 Shield) directly into the computer yielded speeds almost 40x faster. It gets worse. On one of the two units I bought, the USB-c ports stopped working altogether after about a month (the photo is of the second one I had purchased as an extra. You can see the first one in the background). It gets worse, still. There seems to be some strange interaction between the ports. If I plugged just one device into the hub, I could see the device. If I plugged in 2 or 3 (especially if they were a combination of the USB-c and USB-a ports), some devices wouldn't show up. It gets even worse. I had a Sabrent Rocket XTRM 2TB drive plugged into it along with a couple of other external SSD and thumb drives, and the device started resetting a few times per minute (with the devices showing up, then MacOS complaining that the volumes were removed without properly ejecting, then they'd show up, then removed, etc., until, eventually, the APFS tables on the SSD got corrupted, and I lost all of the data from it. I've learned my lesson. No more buying cheap, no-name components for my data storage.

I recently purchased the Aluminum 7 in 1 C Hub with USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 Ports, and I have to say, it's been a fantastic addition to my setup. The build quality is excellent, and the aluminum construction feels durable and premium. The hub provides seamless connectivity, and the USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports work flawlessly for my various devices. The compact size makes it easy to carry around, and the extra ports have been incredibly convenient for expanding the connectivity options of my laptop. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase and would highly recommend this C Hub to anyone in need of reliable and versatile port expansion for their devices.

This product seems decently constructed but did not meet my needs. This powered devices but would not actually allow for data to transfer. My mouse wouldn’t even work with it. - no mouse - no webcam - no microphone I returned it.

Multiports serve the purpose

This works as advertised. It has one failing though. It will not pass power through to your laptop. They don’t claim that it does either. But bear that in mind. If you only have a single USB-C port on your device, it won’t power it.

Junk usb sockets loose and flimsy

Traditional USB charges phones - but the USB C ports don't. Disappointing.
