Good for breeders
Just the right amount for 1 or 2 pairs of breeder pigeons, finely ground, not too coarse, not too fine. The price is reasonable for now.

A good product for your pet
Conures, parakeets, parrots, cockatiels, wild birds- all birds love this stuff. I have a 20 year old cockatiel- she eats it up. I get so nervous with her because she’s up in age. The other 8 birds eat it up. Even the blu jays on the property love this stuff.

Stuff is like crack for my quails
At first I put a little mound of this in the food tray for my two button quails for them to peck at, but as soon as they realized what it is they tried to roll around in that tiny mound as well as pecking at it. So I poured out the rest of this stuff in another tray (a 10” square plant saucer) and gave that to them. Ever since they’ve been roosting in that tray more often than not; only getting out to get food and water. I use to put a tray of water for them to bathe in every week. They use to love that especially in the hot TX summer, but today they didn’t seem pleased when I took out the shell tray and put in the water tray. I did that to also scoop out some of their poop from the shells as well as to give them some water to cool down in. But all they did was to walk around the water tray and to drink a little from it whereas they use to roll around and poop in the water. Anyway, I took out the water tray, put back the shell tray after cleaning it a bit, and they’re back to happily roosting in it. They do poop in this stuff and splash it onto the floor outside of the tray, so I will likely have to get them a box every week which can get expensive, and this is the only downside. I wish the manufacturer would sell this product in a 2-3 pound bag if that can drive down the cost. Perhaps this stuff is meant as diet additive as opposed to how I’m using it, but who am I to deny my quails the pleasure of rolling around in gravel if that’s their thing, right?
