Review: A Very interesting yet quite sad film - I saw this, at the cinema, and am looking forward to re-watching it- a bit more Slowly. There is a great deal 'Going On' at once. Highly Recommended. Oppenheimer's life was interesting and certainly included psychological/behavioural issues that many of those of 'genius' status display, but this wasn't brought out. It was formed of endless unstructured interviews with authors (Prof Ray was particularly poor) who waffled on about how wonderful Oppenheimer was. The documentary lacked good writing, any form of Directorship and content of any substantive depth. Very disappointing. So was slightly disappointed to find that it wasn't. However it turned out to be extremely interesting with testimony from people who knew him throughout his life. Pre and post the atomic bomb. Probably useful to have seen it before watching the film itself.
