Good product
Great product overall! It arrived on time, was packaged well, and matched the description perfectly. The quality feels solid, easy to use, and works as expected. I’m very satisfied with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable product.

Good product, plants love it.
I’m trying to end my love/hate relationship with rockwool. I heard good things from a friend and decided to try this coir. The bocks are very convenient but didn’t expand as much as I thought and was finer cut/grind than I expected. I use it with hydroponic drip system 75/25 with perlite. That mix has worked out very well. I had to add screens to the pump and drain because bits of coir washed out of the pots, especially at first. At this point it works fine, now that the initial washout is over and screens are in place. I probably will go with a different medium for drip systems because of the washout mess, but would happily use it other types of hydroponics or aeroponics as a starter medium. Even though some of what I wrote seems negative, any issues were a result of my lack of understanding about the product. I went in hoping for something like rockwool, but safe and compostable. Coir is not that. I will happily use it again for some applications now that I know what to expect from the coir bricks. I don’t have enough experience with coir to recommend it vs other brands of coir. All I can say is my plants are thriving.

Mix with potting soil
Comes as a small, solid brick which is easy to store. Then mix with potting soil by pre-soaking in a bucket of water until it crumbles readily. I find it prevents root rot and drainage.

DOES NOT EXPAND AS ADVERTISED!!!
DOES NOT EXPAND AS ADVERTISED. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! DOES NOT HOLD ONTO WATER! LEAKS LIKE CRAZY! DO NOT USE IN GROW BAGS! YOU'LL BE STUCK WATERING MORE OFTEN AND IF YOU USE SEAL CONTAINER, YOU'LL GET WATERLOG WITH ROOT ROT.

Low expansion!
The bricks were so compact It was difficult for them to expand in water. Had to make multiple attempts with applying water and they did not still expand to its possible full size indicated.

This works really well once you hydrate it properly. It expands a lot and holds moisture nicely, which is exactly what I was looking for. I did rinse it before using just to be safe, but overall it’s clean and easy to work with. Much less messy than traditional soil. I’d definitely use this again, especially for indoor growing setups.

This stuff is awesome! You get so much for such a low price. I used it to plant seeds, and also put a couple bricks in my composter. Very pleased with this

Great for gardening. The price is higher than regular stores I find though.

Convenient growing media. It comes as described... a compressed brick, I used my hands to break off just enough for my needs and a it does expand when watered, but not as much as peat. I use it to top off soil for tropical plants and to grow cat grass. Does both well, especially for cat grass.

I add coco coir in with my usual potting mix to provide a bit more moisture retention and airiness. Works great!
