The 1-2-3 Money Plan: The Three Most Important Steps to Saving and Spending Smart [Karp, Gregory] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. The 1-2-3 Money Plan: The Three Most Important Steps to Saving and Spending Smart Review: Sound, simple money management methods - I downloaded this free book on my Kindle, but it is a great book with some sound financial advice and is worth the price of the paper version imo. It takes a different approach from many financial advice books in that it does not go into detailed or complicated options, but offers simple methods that can be quickly begun for getting into better financial shape. As the book states, don't confuse simple with unsophisticated. The author makes an analogy using a Garmin GPS: It determines where you are and gives you simple, clear directions to get to your destination. It doesn't throw multiple route choices and explanations at you. It just offers a straightforward route that may not always be the ultimate route but is a very good one that gets you there dependably. This is not the book for those wanting to learn how to evaluate a company's stock, for example, but it offers clear advice on managing personal finances. It has a just-do-it motivational flavor which encourages the reader to reevaluate some habits, including what is and is not personally important, which makes taking those first steps less intimidating. A worthwhile read for those interested in the topic. Review: Practical and to the point - The 1-2-3 Money Plan: The Three Most Important Steps to Saving and Spending Smart [Kindle Edition] is a practical guide to better managing your finances. It is clearly written with a detailed table of contents and index that allows you to click to relevant sections quickly. This book is targeted at Mr and Ms Everyperson and therefore its content is expressed clearly and simply, and covers everyday financial matters from banking, bill-paying, grocery-buying, insurance, choosing a telecommunications provider and using coupons, to name only a few of the topics covered. Some may argue that Karp's work is too simple, but I found it contained numerous practical suggestions for how to save money from regular expenditure and how to spend more effectively. In The 1-2-3 Money Plan: The Three Most Important Steps to Saving and Spending Smart [Kindle Edition] Karp writes there are few times he would suggest spending money to make money. I would suggest reading this book might be one of those few times. By just trying one of its many suggestions, the cost of the purchase will be easily reimbursed.

Sound, Practical Advice!
I ran across this book as a free Amazon download, but admit it would be worth most people to pay for. That being said, this book offers sound advice for everyday living. There is a lot of great advice, most you probably know or should now but may have forgotten. It is a mix of a Clark Howard type approach and Dave Ramsey approach. I feel that I am a very astute consume, and although most advice I already know, it reminded me why I do what I do and DID provide new hints and tips. For example, I didn't know that I could pull, for free, my claims history across insurers, which is what they view when offing you insurance rates. Overall a great book of sound, easy to understand advice for 99% of consumers. Of course you can't just read the book you must implement the ideas. Defintely recommend this book!

Very useful advice
I would definitely recommend this book. We all know and we all want to save money. This book has practical advice with references to online websites that help you save money. Like most things in life, reading this book alone would not save you money. But definitely following the advice in the book would save you money. This book is not about cutting down all expenses and depriving yourself, it offers advice on how you can save a little extra when you buy your next time by spending a few minutes. There are a bunch of URL's specified, don't forget to bookmark them all.

A great easy to read money book!
This book would be a great graduation gift for anyone you know who is graduating from college and just starting their first "real" job. The 1-2-3 Money Plan cuts through all of the confusing details found in many finance books and just gives the author's opinion on the best way to handle many topics in consumer finance. If you have found yourself holding back from investing because it is all too confusing, you NEED to read this book! The author's clear steps will enable you to start working on retirement funds or other things you have been putting off. Even though I have a good knowledge base in consumer finance, I really enjoyed this book. I will use some of the tips given in the book to fine tune my financial plans. Also, I found that I was bookmarking and highlighting lots of lines in the book which give useful websites for financial planning.

Easy to Understand, Must Read to save money
If you read one money book, make it this one. Some books struggle with being too much or not enough specific, this one is perfect and gives you resources on how to learn more in depth. Lots of practical advice covering every aspect of your financial life. He gives you tips on how to make big or small changes in how you manage your money. I liked how he would tell you flat out "Do this" or "Don't ever do that".

You'll Have Nothing To Lose!
Awesome, easy to read, easy to understand information you can put to use immediateley. I've already saved $ in the last 2 weeks by applying one or two of the simple suggestions. First example: I lowered my cellphone bill from $80 a month to $20 based on the author's recommendation. And I now have a better featured phone too! If only one idea appeals to you, you're already ahead. Bet you'll find many things to like. Highly recommended!
