Yes, I do that but it lessons by 4 pages how many CD's the book can hold

Could I also use this case to hold a dvd in the top slot and the dvd paper cover art in the bottom?

I'm not sure. I tried to put the cd covers behind the cds and it didn't work, but I didn't designate a whole slot just for the art.
