Why does this model not have a seatbelt?

Great question! The answer is that it's safer without the seatbelt. We (I work at Razor) had a seatbelt on the first version of the Cart (red chassis), but started to see videos of kids spinning fast, letting go of the steering and leaning out of the carts' triangle of stability (the triangle between the 3 wheels), and tipping the entire cart over because they have a seatbelt on that is strapping them to the cart - a.k.a. NOT a good situation! As such, we did a bunch of testing and found that it's actually safer if a rider can get freely off/away from the cart.

Can you drive backwards

YES! Just lift the drift bar and point the arrow on the steering wheel backwards. You can see a video of how to do it by searching for Crazy Cart Ride Guide on Youtube

Why is this model more expensive ($80) more than the red model? what are the differences? my son is 10 yrs old

It is the new 2014 model. Razor made improvements to it as per customer feedback. I can give you all the differences if you message me. Thanks
