Review: They work - especially if you prep the area well - These worked great in pulling out a dent in a plastic bumper (vw polo). I prepared the area first by cleaning (washing up liquid and water) then gently pouring a kettle full of hot water over the dent to soften the plastic. I’d previously cleaned the suckers and smeared a tiny amount of Vaseline on them to help assure a good seal. Because of this prep the suckers stuck very well and I pulled out the dent very easily (I think heating the area helped a lot here). I’d think they’d work well on metal too but can’t be sure, but good prep would increase the chances of success.
