Just plug it into the USB socket and turn it on! No software downloads, or any other nonsense. This lets me see inside my combustion chambers without having to take everything apart. 8 LEDs around the lens throws out a pretty decent amount of illumination. It's not just useful for engines, but also lines as well to see if there are any obstructions. It works really well with my D8 scan tool, and I can't beat it for the price. I bought the extension cable at the same time so I could use both in my engine bay. IF you're a DIYer, the scan tool and camera is something you definitely want in your toolbox, and it won't break the bank. Just buy that stuff already! (No, I'm not getting paid to say that, I just believe I got some great tools at really good prices).

I have two borescopes, one with another company that does a great job but it's a longer scope and not necessary for smaller, easier to get to areas. The Xtool V200 scope takes good video and pictures of items you are inspecting. I had initially reacheded out to the company for some quirks in the scope but the Xtool customer service reached out immediately to assist in resolving the issues. My scope has a USB C port and my Xtool D8w has an Usb A port so you will have to get a small adapter to resolve that issue, then I had to go into the settings, usb settings to tell it use the usb port for accessories not the default computer/charging hookup, after that it did an install of the software required for "endoscope" and then the scope lit up and was available to take pics and show video.

I am a little annoyed at the moment with this purchase. I have a D7s scan tool and bought this to use with my scan tool but my scan tool has a usb-a connection and the camera has a usb-c connector. So keep this is mind if you have a usb-a you will need an adapter to actually plug the camera in. I will update this after I get an adapter. Edit: Got the usb c to usb a adapter for to plug the borescope into the scan tool. Works well with adapter so that negates the usb c problem. Decent picture quality, does fit into smaller spaces, would be nice if there was a way to guide it better but it is what it is.

Recently picked up this endoscope, and I am loving it. Setup was simple, plug it in, downloaded and update and it just works! Very nice image quality. Has a handy button on the handle to snap the photos and also to toggle the light.. The neck is about 33" long and can be bent and angled however you might need. The usb-c cable is about 56" so you can move around a bit while using it. There is a small cap on the end to protect the lens. Overall a great product!!

When this camera said it was supported by the D8 XTool I assumed my D8BT tool would work as well. However it did not since the camera is USBC. The camera quality itself however is great when connected to a smartphone or other device via USBC. I will have to upgrade my XTool to a newer version to take advantage of this camera
