We installed it on an expansion tank that has frequently leaked like a fountain in the past with no warning, which could have drained our well and shut down our furnace if we didn't happen to be home at the time. Another sensor sends us a Wi-Fi alert and robotically shuts off the main water supply as a backup using a Tokatuker Wi-Fi valve controller (UPC 750225420182) which is also available on desertcart, works great and is relatively inexpensive.
