Globular Cluster CMP2 Comfortable Mod for PS VR 2 - Sweet Spot Keeper- Weight Balancer-Soft Forehead Pad-Bigger Softer Anti-Slip Rear Pad

I'm giving this a 5-star review despite it being rather expensive for what it is and that it may not actually solve your problem. It is, however, a quality product and it's obvious that a lot of R&D went into its design. Installation is not exactly difficult, but it is a somewhat nerve-wracking insofar as you feel a little like you're tearing apart your expensive piece of tech. Once removed (the tool is included), the replacement pads fit perfectly in the headset and, without a doubt, they are better in every way than the OEM pads. They really give the headset a much more robust and "serious" feel. But is more comfortable? Well... broadly, I would say yes, but the hotspots (nose bridge, forehead, etc.) that probably prompted you to look for this product in the first place may still persist. What the pads do, however, is give you more options -slight tweaks that allow you to move the headset around a little to alleviate discomfort, while still maintaining the sweet-spot. Also, there are several different pads that can be changed out to suit your preference -or as they degrade, which is great for extending the life of the headset. For as PSVR1 veterans know, the OEM front pad will eventually start to disintegrate. Given the quality and precision involved in this product, I think the price is justified -but manage your expectations.

This is basically a required item for me because the default headband lets the headset slip down my face and this completely fixes that. They give 3 different materials for the forehead band and the back padding so you can choose what you like most. They also give the option to have padding on the top strap too if you need a little more cushion. My only "issue" with it is that after a long play session the back head padding starts to hurt a little bit because of how its shaped but other than that it's comfortable for extended play. It feels high quality and it was fairly easy to install; they included a plastic prying tool so you can disassemble the headset without needing to get any other tools.

The globular cluster is easy to install. The printed instructions aren't super clear, but the installation video on the Amazon product page is very easy to follow. The stock pads pop off pretty easily and the globular ones just snap on. The difference the globular cluster makes for the PSVR2 experience is night and day. With the stock pads, it always took a minute to make sure the PSVR2 was perfectly level and aligned with my face when I first put it on. And during gameplay, I'd have to CONSTANTLY adjust the headset as the sweet spot would slip out of focus and things would get blurry. I'd also have to crank the PSVR2 headset so tight (so it wouldn't constantly slip) that it hurt my head. In contrast, the globular cluster pads basically perfectly align the PSVR2 when you put it on. They do an EXCELLENT job of keeping everything in place. I found these pads made the image much sharper, made it so I rarely have to readjust the headset, and they're just far more comfortable than the stock PSVR2 pads. They also helped reduce motion sickness (from the headset moving around and the graphics going out of focus). With the globular cluster, the visuals stay in focus and I can just enjoy the games instead of fighting the headset. The only time I find myself still having to adjust the headset is when I look straight up (like climbing in Horizon VR). That causes the back pad to slip up my head a bit. But even then, the globular cluster keeps things mostly in place and the graphics still don't really blur much at all... I just have to pull the back pad down a bit when I return my head to normal position.

8 months later and I’m leaving a review. Simply put if you’ve had any discomfort with the default headset GET THIS. It will make it flawless given you know how to adjust it. For me the top strap was a must and what the default was missing for me since the strap can be adjusted to PULL the headset higher in the front or back finally aligning at an even eye position where it can no longer fall little by little through movement as was my case before. No more annoying constantly shoving upwards every 5-10 min when in text would begin to be blurry. Now it sits perfectly In place without overly squeezing my head and stays there since the top strap prevents it from falling to a nuclear screen position.

Aside from the initial component installation, which can be somewhat cumbersome, once it's on, using the PSVR2 is really comfortable and allows for longer sessions. However, adding a neckband reduces the effective space for wearing the headset, making the process a bit difficult (perhaps because my head is rather large), but once it's installed, all those difficulties are forgotten as it allows for a more prolonged immersion.

So I researched a lot of different items on and off Amazon, and waffled at paying this price for this set, but I am glad I did. 1) This is a well made and well put together item. You can tell that there was care and a lot of thought went into the design of this, 2) the fit is amazing. Not only do you have multiple areas to tighten and loosen the straps, you also have multiple choices for padding to adjust the thickness so it is a perfect fit, and 3) it comes with pieces made with different fabrics so you can use one for workouts where you may sweat more and need to wash it often, and the other is more of a softer, leather-like comfort fit for when you chill and game. When I first put it on, it was like night and day. So comfortable, I can now use my VR2 for hours with no issues or the visor falling down and hurting the bridge if my nose. It is well worth the money, buy this kit, you will be glad you did. I sure am.

The PSVR2 is a great piece of equipment with the exception of comfort. I was surprised to find it so uncomfortable with longer sessions that I had to find a way to fix it. This comfort mod makes it 1000x better. I can now play much longer without any discomfort. Installation was a little tricky because of the removal of the original parts but once it’s in, it’s a great fit. I no longer feel the pinch on my nose or squeeze on my forehead. It’s design evenly distributes the weight of the headset for optimum comfort. I can’t recommend this enough.

I have chronic painful neck and shoulder issues, and with the original design of the PSVR and PSVR2, I was lucky if I could put in an hour of play time a day, and often went days between playing. This headstrap is a game changer for me! I still have to take a break every hour or so, but I'm not in pain at the end of that hour and I can come back for another round (or two) later. The front, back, and top pads are plush and comfortable, and the three different options for pads included is a really nice touch. But the real magic is that it redistributes the weight of the device...no more pinching the center of your forehead and a tiny spot on the back of the head! I found it easy to remove the original parts, as I'm used to taking devices apart and tinkering/repairing, but some may find that a bit nervewracking. Installing the new parts was a cinch! I highly recommed this accessory!
