I had an experience using green laser for star gazing purpose. This time I thought of choosing red one, the quality and pointer reach is good, no issue, but, the visibility of stright line of ray is very less, red one cannot work as green. The ray is not easily visible by our eye. Red laser is not at all usable for star gazing. For other use it way work. I cannot even return as my place is far from city. Though the quality is not bad. Go for green if you are buying for star gazing purpose.

Wow, this is a great little laser for the money. Brighter than I expected and the charging port is neat as well.. Simply screw off the end cap and there is a USB that plugs directly in to a computer or wall wart. It charges pretty darn fast too. The adjustable effect cap is really cool as well, you can turn it and change the patterns while its on. Also the locking mechanism is interesting and easy to implement without being to over cautious.. You can even just remove it and discard if you aren't worried about it turning on in your pocket. So far so good! Nice RED laser with a solid strong beam.

Not at all good for stargazing like it says. Good for scaring monkeys and lizards.
