Overall we are really happy with this! We followed the directions to season it before use and it has been very nonstick. It does heat differently than the stock plate, which is expected for true cast iron. Be prepared to turn the temp down slightly compared to the original piece for this once it gets really hot. Our oven is a GE model JGBS66REK5SS. It fits pretty well, but is a slight bit short. No problem with functionality at all, it just doesn’t quite line up with the other grates flush like the original. Even so, I think this is a great product! We are really happy to use it as a griddle without worrying about non-stick chemicals in our food from the original piece that got worn quickly. Would definitely recommend this.

So far, holding up well and really like the all cast iron griddle. Fit perfect and replaced that annoying Aluminum griddle that came with our DORA gas stove. Are getting a few darker spots but that is normal for a cast iron item. That polymer coating has to start building somewhere. And ours does not flake or any layers peeling. Real Cast iron does not peel or flake. ALL griddles have hot spots as does this one. Our original Aluminum one had EXACTLY the same hot spot. So it's not the griddle it's the stove burner.

I love that this is actually made out of cast-iron. Our stove came with an aluminum griddle with the nonstick coating. I have five kids and a husband. Somebody used a knife or a metal spatula and scraped it within the first week. It’s scratched all the pieces now and I don’t wanna be eating whatever kind of coating is on it. This one is actually made of cast-iron. I seasoned it with coconut oil, used a little olive oil spray and fried a couple of over easy eggs. The second picture is after I took the eggs off and wiped it down with a dry cloth. This did an amazing job for being brand new. I prefer my cast-iron second generation because the surface tends to be a little smoother, but for a brand new cast-iron griddle, this did everything I hoped it would do. Pancakes are my next challenge. I don’t believe the heat distribution will be as good on this as it was with the aluminum, but I won’t get little bitty pieces of nonstick coating in my pancakes. I can fit 8 -1/4 pound burger patties on this comfortably, I will need to rotate them to make sure that the outside ones get cooked. That has nothing to do with it being cast-iron that’s got to do with the burner on my stove, but hopefully that helps people know how large this is. Six French toast fit on this and cook well.

I was looking for an alternative to the original flat top from GE, whose coating had been flaking off for some time. I assumed choosing the cast iron option would protect me from coatings, but apparently I missed that detail. It’s still coated and I’m already seeing scratches. Yes maybe I shouldn’t use a fork to flip things but that would not be a problem if it was plain cast iron. Then again would be a large surface to prevent from rusting. So I see the flip side to that, but I just don’t want coated cook surfaces. The surface is extremely rough and even after slowly cooking a few slices of bacon there is a tone of crud to clean off of the “non stick surface” I do not recommend these but I have not found a better alternative. Maybe the original being aluminum was able to disperse the heat better as well, but the coating failed immediately. It’s also extremely heavy now but was expected.

This was a better fit for my GE gas range than original. Very happy!

The thought of upgrading our stove didn’t really cross our mind until we scratched the factory aluminum griddle. There’s a whole world of stove accessories that I didn’t know existed. Make the upgrade to cast iron for your griddle. You can use metal spatulas and turners. You can set the temperature to high with no problems. It’s worth the money for your stove

Great grill.. I'm replacing my stock one that started to peel the coating. Asked the seller a question and was super quick to respond and very helpful. Grill is a bit rough but after seasoning it 3x it works amazing.
