These things are great! They take lr44 batteries and they are not noisy at all. They just vibrate and find a way to skate along the floor. Works best on hard floors but did not get much hair in them while they were on the carpet which was nice. My son doesn't take care of things the best (5) but they have held up for a bit and none of them have been broken. My 2-8 year old all use these and have fun watching them scoot around while they catch them!

My cat wants constant entertainment and it has been very hard to find toys that keep his interest. These, however, are amazing—he watched them for 3 hours the first day we got them! He especially loves the locust (I think because it moves around the best and doesn’t get stuck as easily as the others). I’ve never had cat toys keep my cat’s interest for so long and while some of them flip over a lot and get stuck on things (and I’m sure the batteries will run out pretty soon with all the use they’re getting), I would still 100% recommend getting these for any cat. Even our big girl cat whose favorite activity is sleeping loves these. She will play with them for more time than any other toy (and we have bought every cat toy imaginable lol).

I had purchased these for my nephew, but accidentally sent them to my own house. Rather than sending him back, we decided to play with him. It was really fun watching our dog chase these around the house. We were very careful because I didn’t want him to eat them as they do have batteries and obviously not a dog toy. After that, we took them to my mom’s house and showed them to her cats. That was also really funny and fun to watch so basically I have not at all use these for the intended purposes however, I have definitely got my moneys worth out of them. I will be sending another package to my nephew.

My cat loves this especially the roach. My only complaint is that it doesn’t have a timer and will run until the battery dies. * Dog owners beware, they may try to chew it.

Very cool concept but they died not long after opening.

I love these for both my grandkids and my cat. Be careful when you change the batteries. It’s easy to break the little plastic piece at one end when you take the old battery out because they fit so tightly. That piece holds the new battery in and the toy won’t function without it.

This was a big hit for my 4 year olds birthday presents. Way overpriced but glad it came with the batteries.

I and our extended family all like the Hexbugs and their variations and I purchased this for a naughty intent as both my daughters in law fear running into random bugs. I had fantasies of letting them loose in their homes, but responsibly won out and it will only be at my home as their dogs might find them first and the batteries are a no no.
