We live a short distance from a water pumping station and sometimes especially in the morning if you make a hot drink using unfiltered water it tastes absolutely disgusting and nobody wants to drink it, not a good start to the day! Using these water filters ensures we get great tasting drinks every time and definitely improves the quality of the water. The filters are easy to use and long lasting. The filter jug fits nicely in my fridge providing a constant supply of decent water. We have tried cheaper cartridges but they are not nearly so good as Brita cartridges so now only buy Brita cartridges and recycle them once used which is much better for the environment than buying bottled water. Brita definitely are the best.

I’ve been using BRITA MAXTRA PRO Pure Performance filters for around two years, and they have been very reliable. The water tastes noticeably cleaner, with chlorine smell and aftertaste greatly reduced. Tea and coffee also taste better. They work well in reducing limescale, which has helped protect my kettle and coffee machine, especially in a hard-water area. Installation is easy, the fit is perfect, and each cartridge lasts close to the claimed lifespan. The 6-pack is good value for regular use. They are slightly more expensive than generic alternatives, but the consistent performance and improved taste make them worth it. Overall, a product I trust and would recommend.

When I held the new PRO cartridge, I immediately noticed the improved design compared to the previous MAXTRA+ filters I'd been using. Technical Details & Features I was impressed to learn these are made from 50% bio-based materials and are 99% recyclable - a nice environmental upgrade from BRITA. According to the packaging, these new PRO filters increase capacity by 50% compared to the previous model, filtering up to 150L in 4 weeks per cartridge. That's equivalent to about 150 plastic water bottles, which feels good from both a cost and environmental perspective. Real-World Testing I followed the simple 5-step process exactly as instructed: 1. I removed my old filter and disposed of it 2. I thoroughly cleaned my jug 3. I submerged the new PRO filter in cold water 4. I inserted it firmly into the jug's filter slot 5. I pressed the reset button on my jug lid for 5 seconds The difference in water taste was immediately noticeable - much cleaner and fresher than both tap water and the previous filter I was using. I've been using it a lot, and the quality has remained consistent. Pros and Cons What I Love: • I can taste a significant improvement in water quality • I'm saving money compared to bottled water • I appreciate the increased filtering capacity • I like the environmental improvements in the materials • I find the 6-pack offers great value What Could Be Better: • I wish BRITA would improve their outer packaging to prevent damage during shipping • I noticed the indicator on my jug doesn't seem calibrated for the longer-lasting PRO filters Value for Money Compared to competitors like ZeroWater and PUR, I find BRITA offers the best balance of price and performance. While ZeroWater might remove slightly more contaminants, their filters cost significantly more and need replacing much more frequently. PUR filters are comparably priced but don't seem to last as long in my experience. When considering the improved capacity of these PRO filters, BRITA pulls ahead even further in value. Tips for Other Buyers I'd recommend rinsing the filter thoroughly before first use - I run it under cold water for about 30 seconds. Also, make sure you press the reset button when changing filters, or the indicator won't accurately track filter life. If you have particularly hard water, you might want to consider their specific Limescale Expert version instead.
