Inexpensive, easy to use, what's not to like?
I bought this because I had a 4 TB SSD laying around that needed a home. The drive came out of an older PC that was being replaced. It took 2 seconds to install the new drive and I was off to the races moving my old data over. I have since kept the drive enclosure as a backup drive and it works perfectly. I would certainly recommend this to someone who has a 2.5 inch hard drive laying around that needs an enclosure.

Functional. Affordable. Adaptable. No problems out of the box with first ssd format.
Having used computer equipment for over 30 years, I've seen a lot. There is not a lot to gush about with this hdd enclosure. But that's just the point. It's very affordable without any bells and whistles. It does exactly what it is supposed to right out of the box with zero problems. That alone is a big thumbs up for me. I value no hassle. Opening is a snap. Place your thumb on the top, press down gently, and slide away from the USB port till it stops. Lift lid. Insert drive. Done. It's plastic and light weight, but at the same time not flimsy. I wouldn't go throwing it down the stairs, but I suspect that it could survive more than a few casual drops. Not something I intend to test on purpose.Included are felt vibration pad absorbers if users would like to limit the noise from 2.5 mechanical hdds or add a bit more fall protection for drives in general. It also includes a dual male ended usb 3.0 c-type connector cable, which is a bit on the short side. That can be good or bad depending on what you need it for. Personally, I think it would be excellent to connect to phones, laptops, and some desk tops. Though I highly recommend adapters. Two c-type to usb-A adapters (Like what I have for it) will go a long way in adding versatility to this enclosure, expanding it's backwards compatibility. It was immediately recognized under windows 10 with a brand new ssd. After formatting I was able to open it up just fine. Purchased for hdd testing and formatting. I think it was very affordable. I consider the no frills but simple elegant design to be a good perk. I chose to give 5 stars because out of the box and first use combined with 2 day arrival? I cannot find anything bad to say about this item. I hope you all find this review helpful in your selection.

Full transfer speed on SSD
Average build quality enclosure ideal for SSD drives. I would not use it for mechanical hard drives as it offers near zero protection. Most 2.5 Inch SSD drives is half empty inside so no need for fancy enclosure. What's more important is the drive interface. This operates at full speed when I compared it to another enclosure. My particular use case is for a 1 tb SSD drive connected to the usb-c port on an Orange Pi 5 running Armbian. No issues for the OS to recognize this. Some reviews said no instructions but mine came with printed instructions in English. It slide open like nearly all enclosures of this type. Also includes a couple of pads which is not needed for SSD drives.

Does what it's supposed to
It's an SSD/HDD enclosure. No tools, easy to assemble, extremely fast transfer speeds. Nice for a USB backup drive.

works great, right out of the box
I popped a Western Digital Blue SSD in the enclosure and plugged it in. Works like a charm. The case feels a bit cheap and plasticy but that doesn't bother me. The price is right, and I don't abuse my stuff!
