Are those simply the inactive ingredients?** A: No. Mostly there are 2 types of cinnamon in the capsule form- Ceylon and Cassia, I believe the name is based on taste and possibly where it is from. NOW FOODS used to use Ceylon but switched to the less expensive Cassia without notifying buyers of the change. Obviously they now don't even tell the buyer which cinnamon they are buying. From everything I've read, Ceylon, true cinnamon, has a milder taste but more important is not harmful to the liver in larger quantities and is more effective. To assist in controlling my blood sugar I take 8+ Ceylon cinnamon caps daily along with Fenugreek & Bitter Melon. And have since switched from NOW to GreenPacks for my Ceylon cinnamon.
