The outstanding beauty of this piece of furniture is due to it's solid hardwood construction - absolutely no plywood is used. The Shrine Altar that is featured in this listing is constructed out of solid Red Oak hardwood - harvested locally here in Maine. The completed bench is finish-coated with environmentally-friendly beeswax finish. Handmade in the USA - my small wood shop is located in the wonderful state of Maine.
