The backing isn't hard to take off as long as you take a heat gun to it gently and peel it. You can tell when the adhesive is starting to loosen but if you do it this way, be careful not to overheat and melt the plastic by moving the heat gun around constantly. A cheap $20 heat gun on desertcart works more than enough and this is how I always took off any protective layers. Otherwise, you will struggle to peel this off unless you can bake this in a hot sun. A hair dryer may work but I've not tried it. This sheet is nice and thick, came without any scratches. The size is perfect for my use as well. The color is also VERY white.
