In our home here in the south we've never used sugar in our biscuit mix, so we just like them to be as full of butter as possible when they're made, and then we spread some butter and jelly or honey on them when they're fresh out of the oven when we're not smothering them in delicious sausage gravy! (I'm already getting hungry again) What I do appreciate here is that the mix is solid, you just add butter and milk or buttermilk to the package and stir then make your biscuits. You can either make drop biscuits or if you're skilled enough already then you can roll them out and cut your biscuits the traditional way and bake them to golden perfection. These seem to rise very nicely when they bake up. One box makes 12-14 biscuits with our 2 inch cutter depending on how you thick you make them. If you go smaller you'd probably get more than that; otherwise it's basically one batch of biscuits per box. If you like them sweet or don't mind them being sweet, I'd totally recommend you give them a try - at least once just to see what your take on them is. I should add that as far as covering them in sausage gravy... once we add gravy and shake on a little salt and pepper, the sweetness is almost not even there... it does stick around a bit if you try the biscuit on its own, or as a breakfast sandwich though, just to give you an idea on what to expect.
