Good paint
This paint lives up to the product description. The color is true to what is shown. I painted a chair that was painted black. It covered it well. It took 4 oz to cover. I didnโt sand or do anything except paint.

Beautiful color, creamy formula, easy to spread
Edit; oops. This review below should have been for the Chalky Chicks paint color 'Hail', NOT the 'Buttermilk'. I ordered both but haven't used the Buttermilk yet. I did paint a test strip with both colors and the Buttermilk does have somewhat of a yellow undertone compared to the Hail. They are both very nice! The consistency of each paint is similar in that they are both smooth and creamy. I like that I can purchase it in a 16-ounce or a 32-ounce size. My review below compares the Chalky Chicks paint to Annie Sloan paint and with the AS paint, you can only get it in a 32-ounce size or a super tiny (4 ounce) size which isn't enough to paint anything. I also love that I can get the Chalky Chicks paint off of Amazon (can't do that with AS paint). Comparing prices between Chalky Chicks and Annie Sloan; the 16-ounce size of Chalky Chicks paint is equivalent to the 32-ounce size of AS (price per ounce). The 32-ounce size of Chalky Chicks paint is less expensive than the 32-ounce size of AS (price per ounce). So, Chalky Chicks paint is a win-win all around. Great paint, beautiful results, lots of colors to choose from, normal size options, nice price and last but not least, I can purchase it off of Amazon!!!! My original review: I'm a very long-time user of Annie Sloan's chalk paint line. Since the pandemic, however, I try to order EVERYTHING off of Amazon. I have to make a 45-minute trip (one way) to get the AS paint from one of her suppliers. Nope, not anymore since I found the Chalky Chicks paint line sold on Amazon. Wow, what a relief. I took a gamble and ordered it. I mean, I really love AS chalk paint, and I feared nothing would even come close. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised at its performance. The paint was perfectly smooth and creamy and was a really pretty shade of white. Not too bright, and no yellow undertones. I was painting over a black surface and ended up adding several coats, probably because I diluted the paint some in order to make for a smoother application. I did some distressing and it turned out beautiful. The only thing I noticed compared to AS chalk paint was that it was a little harder to distress. I typically use a 220-grit sandpaper for distressing (with AS paint) but had to go to a 150-grit paper. No big deal, just different. I also bought the Chalky Chicks mustard seed Tuscany yellow to paint two antique stained chairs.

Easy & Cute but it DOES peel easily
I bought 2 4 oz jars of Tuscany (yellow) and it was easy to apply and dried pretty quickly too. I bought this because description said minimal prep, no sanding, no primer needed. I painted a small side table used in our foster kiddosโ room, and it took no time. It also helped that I painted outdoors and with this Texas heat, the paint dried in under 10 mins. My only complaint is that because itโs latex, the paint EASILY peels off, so beware! Iโve already put a few scuffs in the side table :( and Iโm hoping our toddlers donโt figure it out and dig their nails into it

Great paint & easy to work with.
I really love this company and their products. The color was a tad lighter than the color showed in the picture, but still worked for what I needed it for- to create a distressed look under another color. I found the trick to be to apply the second color while the bottom layer was still wet, making it easier to blend. Also there was no odor and the paint seemed to apply easily.

Started out beautifully. I loved the color so much and had ...
This will be a lengthy review.. I originally purchased this paint in Old Lace to use on my kitchen table. I have used chalk paint several times before on small projects, but this was my first one that was bigger and required more work. I sanded and stained my table top and then used the paint on the bottom part of the table. It went on beautifully. I loved the color so much and had a ton left so I felt inspired to go ahead and paint my old kitchen cabinets that I had wanted to paint forever. I started the very next day on my cabinets and noticed immediately that this time there were clumps in the paint and it was not going on as smoothly as it had on the table. The more I used it the worse it got. I thought maybe the lid had been left off or something and so I ordered more. Again, the first day I used it, perfect. I was so careful to close the lid immediately after pouring what I needed into a bowl. Onto day 2 of painting, clumps. I could see the clumps pouring out when I put it into the bowl to use. As I painted, clumps were popping up everywhere and I had to scrape them off every few strokes and try to smooth it out, which was very difficult since the paint was getting so thick and sticky and not going on smoothly at all. I'm now down to doing the second coat on the last few doors and I think I'll have to buy another container just to finish it with new paint as quickly as I can. The last door I did with my first container, I ended up having to sand down a bit and paint over due to the clumpy, streaky chunks. I don't want to have to do that with the others. I've used both DiXie Belle, and Folk Art chalk paint with no problems. In fact, my Dixie Belle paint I had from a project months ago that I used again on my chairs, and it was still a perfect consistency. I was so careful with it this time that I really don't feel that it's anything I've done to cause this. It's really upsetting as this project of doing all my kitchen cabinets was already extremely time consuming and difficult, and kitchen cabinets are kind of a focal point in a kitchen. Everyone who walks into my kitchen will see them. Really disappointed and won't be buying more of this brand. *edit* I just went out to finish my last few cabinet doors. As I was pouring the paint into my cup to begin, clumps, one the size of a grape, came pouring out. I tried to use it, telling myself I only have a few more to go, make it work. I even added a tiny bit of water to see if it would make a difference. I just can't use it, it is too sticky. So now I am forced to purchase this paint again for the 3rd time, and will just have to rush thru to finish the last of them as quickly as I can while the paint is still fresh. Also painting my bottom cabinets a different color, I had purchased the steel blue for the bottom but hadn't started them yet. Bc of my results with these I decided to use an older paint I had laying around, which is a dixie belle brand, and started yesterday. Like night and day. Went on perfectly, I do not need to do a second coat, and this paint has been sitting in my garage since early summer and is still a perfect consistency. I also now have to wait a couple days for the color I need to event be in stock so that I can finish painting and then polyurethane... so frustrating.

Best chalk paint ever!!!
Best chalk paint ever. I have tried several other brands and resorted to making my own until I ordered Chalky chicks. It goes on easily and only needed one coat. Dries great and looks flawless. I will be ordering more as I work on more projects. Painted all of our bedroom furniture in Starkess night (black) and every piece turned out beautiful. I even painted over mirrored nightstands!!
