## Overview

The SRAM XG-1275 GX Eagle 12-Speed Cassette delivers a massive 500% gear range with a lightweight 450g build, combining stamped steel and aluminum cogs. Engineered with X-Glide 2 technology for smooth, reliable shifting, it’s designed for mountain bikers seeking high performance and durability at a wallet-friendly price. Fully compatible with all SRAM Eagle 1x12 drivetrains, this cassette is the ultimate upgrade for conquering any trail.

## Description

When SRAM's one-by-twelve Eagle drivetrain was initially released, it marked an evolutionary step in the company's determination towards ditching the front derailleur for good. However, this massive range of usable gears came with a price tag that's out of reach for the vast majority of trail riders. Determined to give these riders the 500% gear range of pricier Eagle XO1 and XX1 Cassettes at an upgrade-friendly price, SRAM engineered the XG-1275 GX Eagle 12-Speed Cassette to be reliable and smooth shifting, albeit with a 93 gram weight penalty over the XO1 Eagle Cassette. To keep production costs down, SRAM employs Full Pin technology for the first 11 cogs. This production method places stamped steel cogs together with stainless steel pins, instead of the CNC-machined chromoly cluster of the XO1 Eagle Cassette. It still retains the aluminum 50-tooth cog of the XO1 Eagle Cassette for weight savings, seeing it's the largest cog on the cassette. Ultimately, this production method creates a cassette that's relatively lightweight and incredibly tough--all while saving hard-earned loot for future bike upgrades and trips to riding destinations. SRAM incorporates X-Glide 2 architecture into the XG Eagle Cassette for improved inboard and outboard shifting, as well as better chain retention, seeing it's a one-by system. This architecture is especially noticeable when you're spinning up steep climbs in the largest cogs by keeping the chain from flopping off. And because it's designed to seamlessly work with all Eagle 1x12 drivetrains (including XO1 and XX1), this 12-speed cassette is compatible with SRAM's current XD Driver body.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What's the expected lifespan of a eagle cassette when drivetrain is properly maintained? asking since 50t is aluminum and it's about 4x more $ than xt**
A: I put over 5000 miles/630K vertical feet climbing (lots of torque on the cassette) mountain trail riding on my original XO1 cassette (two years of use). This was the cassette that came on my new bike. The XO1 cassette was pretty much worn out at this point. I put on a GX cassette in early January 2020 and have over 2000 miles on it now. I went with the GX cassette because it is nearly 1/2 the price of the XO1 and only slightly heavier (about 400 grams). So far it is holding up well. SRAM recommends changing the cassette at 2500 miles which equates to one year riding for me. I consulted with my local bike shop and they encouraged a change out the cassette at 3500 miles; I opted to wait until 5000 miles. I maintain the bike well so that contributed to the longer life. I wash the bike after every ride and lube the chain too. I change the chain every 650 miles or less based on chain stretch measurements to minimize a worn out chain prematurely wearing out the cassette.

**Q: Ese cassetele queda a una treek**
A: Hermano si andas montado en Transmision SRAM, si, pero debes de cambiar cadena y pasador.

**Q: Xg-1275 is a 10-52t cassette. is your listing a typo? is it a 50t or 52t?**
A: The XG-1275 is offered in both a 10-50t and a 10-52t. This listing is for the 10-50t. Unfortunately the 10-52t is currently out of stock. It is available in the XG-1295:

**Q: Is this for a xd-sram hub system?**
A: Yes, it uses the XD hub body.
